This was a fantastic place to stay! The location opposite the Menin Gate was brilliant. Couldn’t have asked for a better spot to stay - close to great food and the town square. Lots of interesting military paraphernalia in the property made it very authentic. Clean, comfortable and easy. Benoit was so kind!

Beautiful home, well situated. We loved the walled patio, it was perfect for coffee and pastries in the morning and then dinner and games in the evening. Lots of space and bathrooms, the beds were comfortable and the view of Menin Gate Bridge was lovely. Benoit was great and gave us a history of the artifacts displayed in the home, helped us with our itinerary and made us feel very welcome and special. I’d already told family and friends that if they ever made their way to Ypres, Menin Gate House 1 was the place to stay, before we’d even completed our first night. You have to play a bit of a game with the city parking pass, but it’s easy enough. We had a great stay and would definitely stay there again.

This Property has great character and is is good order, we would say the only negative to our room was that the bedroom was upstairs whilst the bathroom was downstairs, only a slight problem if you need to go during the night. Otherwise, a great propert.

Best view of the Menin Gate!

Our host Ben, could not have been more helpful. After meeting us to show us the apartment, he told us some amazing facts about the area. I have been to Ypres many times before, but some of the things Ben told us about the area improved our visit immensely. The apartment is spacious and well laid out. Very close to the square, the restaurants and bars, the Menin gate so close you can almost touch it. We got parked outside our door every night, no problem. All in all a great place to stay to explore Ypres and the surrounding area.
