Yosemite's eastern gate and Tuolumne Meadows are not accessible when Tioga Pass is closed. Guests arriving November through April must bring snow chains for their vehicles or risk being denied entry to the park by the National Park Service.

Making a reservation for the restaurant was not the problem. Problem was not enough staff to accommodate a hotel guest. Empty tables due to staff shortage. Very disappointed!!!

The location of the hotel is absolutely stunning, but a condition of our room was unacceptable!!! For over $800 a night, the room was dirty and unkept like at some cheap motel. There was dust literally everywhere, the carpet and walls were filthy, stains on old bed sheets, mold in the bath tub and paint peeling off everywhere. The towels were old, and the bed mattress was cheap and uncomfortable. The hotel has an amazing history, however this is not an excuse for a lack of maintenance and basic cleaning. The elevator was not working so we had to use the evacuation stairs to the fourth floor. This beautiful historic property is sadly deteriorating.
