Terrific stay for two nights. Very central—walk to the shambles, Cathedral, pubs and dinners…we also took a bus from just down the street into the farmlands of Ampleforth and Scawton (1 hr 10 minutes)…and then train back from Helmsley…it was a wonderful trip to visit our ancestors dating back to 1790 in the farms and in the city if York from 1888…great staff…
