Super convenient within walking distance to town center like The Minster and Shambles. Good dining options everywhere sooo inexpensive! We love York. Staff here are aces, gave us early check in to our room with a view of The Minster. Bottled water is pricey, here’s a tip, get your own water bottle and fill it in the hotel’s Fitness room’s water cooler for free. It’s better tasting than the spring water they sell. Overall, 5 Star for awesome vibe that caters to a younger fun clientele without losing its Marriott DNA. Thanks for an amazing stay.

Everything was great, two small issues, parking is basically none existent especially for blue badge holders even for loading and unloading on arrival and departing there is nothing. You are sent to a local car park, you are given a discount code bit it is still not cheap. The rooms are clean and modern but are a bit small and two of you get in each others way when getting ready. Best one get ready then go wait in the bar.

Modern hotel in centre of York, ideal location for shops, bars and restaurants. Nice well equipped modern rooms with comfortable beds and a shower. Decent bar serving good selection of drinks, food also available including a good breakfast and parking nearby.

Check in was excellent , very friendly and Efficient . Nice touch to have the dog treats in the bedroom . The only bad thing was the bar staff in the evening . We wanted to take a bottle of water up to the room and were comprehensively ignored by both staff so after waiting a good while we gave up . Shame as the rest of the stay was very good .

A 5 minutes walk from the Shambles makes this hotel a quiet haven away from the usual York crowds. The downside is it's a little further to walk from the railway station (20 minutes) but you can use the bus to make that journey The staff are super friendly and helpful. The common areas are clean and tidy. The room was quiet, comfortable and clean with a great view of the Minister. I loved the automatic light under the bed which saved fumbling for the light switch. The only niggle was the chair was a little out of proportion to the room size and I kept bumping into it. Overall, highly recommended and I will certainly be staying here again.

Stayed at other Moxy sites before and this one was disappointing. Room was small, no bottled water, almost no clothes hanging space. Bathroom was tiny. Breakfast, usually a highlight felt it had been downgraded into poor quality products. Pastries were stodgy, cheap sausages, no maple syrup for pancakes ……. Just lots of little things that didn’t feel like the high quality product it was from previous visits. Staff were friendly and upbeat and decor was still fresh. Would think twice about staying again and lots of other options for the price.

The staff at the Moxy couldn't have been more helpful. We arrived in York earlier than expected and luckily we're able to check in before 3pm so we could freshen up and leave our luggage before walking into town. It was a very convenient location, around 5 minutes walk to the Shambles which was handy as the weather was terrible. We decided to have a bigger lunch in town and opted to grab lighter bites at the hotel in the evening - we were given free gin punch and settled in to the lounge area to choose food. It was a lively space with lots of lights, loud music and groups of people playing pool, Foosball and other games - clearly a social hub which is great if that's what you are looking for. We ordered some dishes to share, chicken tenders and nachos which were lovely until I came across a piece of plastic wrapping in my nachos. Not wanting to cause a fuss I discarded it and we went to bed. The beds were comfortable, I found the rubber bottom sheets rather odd and a little squeaky (especially if like me you are a fidget) but we slept well. We were grateful for the blackout blinds and usb charger ports on the bedside tables, the water pressure in the bathroom was great and we had a very pleasant stay.
