Sustainable, organic, comfortable lodging in great
The most sustainable hotel I've stayed in - composting, not over-servicing linens, building itself, toiletries in room. Good gift shop and visitor center and food options are OK if you're hungry, but overall pretty stodgy, if organic, cafeteria food (no-one goes to Yellowstone for the food). Check your food is hot while in line, my hot breakfast was cold every day. Friendly staff, lots of car parking. The best base if you are aiming to explore many areas in Yellowstone, the Canyon area is central for day trips to Mammoth, geysers, Lamar Valley, Lake, etc and walking distance to the amazing canyon, which is the best place to star gaze. (PS the wifi is bad - slow, patchy. But you knew that).
