Disliked: Amenities
Having accessible laundry was a plus. But there is not much to do at the property. Wifi is scant, being only available in the rooms.
The nearby dining establishments offer awful food to the point of dinners being inedible.
The lobby staff are friendly and efficient. The area is very pretty and there are some hijes one can take just off the property. Parjing is plentiful and convenient
It was a very nice National Park and liked everything was within walking distance especially gas station and garage since we needed a car repair while we were there.
Very clean and modern. Hard to complain about anything. It’s inside the park and has everything you NEED. Just know it’s small, no AC but there is a fan. It was a little hot in August even with windows open but we were barely in the room. Very nice and super convenient to anything you need.
Loved the cabin-like feel of the property. Room was nice. Had trouble with the heater and front desk sent someone out to fix it quickly. Easy to get around to eateries. Was great to stay in the park- saved a lot of drive time.
The girl checked us in was short and not welcoming. There were 2 other people checking in others at the same time. They were sharing all kinds of info on animal sightings, possibility of northern lights, mentioned where the general store and restaurant were located- pointing it out on a map. I handed our room keys and a map then told our cabin #. I asked her about the possibility of seeing northern lights, she says, “I don’t know about that, I’m not your girl.”
The cabin was nice. Very convenient to have parking right outside the door. Room itself was spacious. We enjoyed our stay.

Liked: Cleanliness, amenities
Newer facility, no air conditioning, bathroom tub / shower grab bar for safe movement out of deep tubs. No door on bathroom ( a safety issue) for protection incase of personal attach.

Disliked: Staff & service, room comfort
Overpriced, poor service
Parking is extremely limitied, Not enough for Hayden lodge. Hayden lodge 1st floor even number room with patio face the parking lot where they load full size travel busses. Not a place to sit out and enjoy a morning coffee. Tub is high, Like giant step up and over side and 4 inches more than the floor. Lighting is not efficent in the room. The trash recepticle is small and has spaces for plactic, trash and paper, not enough for 2 days. M66 bar service was horrible to the point i had to get a manager to get service after i had 1 drink, ordered food and then was ignored for 40+ minutes, food only came after i asked for a check and had them remove from my bill.
The floor in our room looked as though it hadn’t been vacuumed in years, I wouldn’t walk around barefoot. There was mildew in the tub and shower curtain and overall it smelled really bad inside the room. I woke up during the night worried about bed bugs, just really dirty and smelly. The dining options were terrible. It was also impossible to get a coffee in the morning, the lines were so long and limited staff.
We stayed within the park to avoid traffic in/out each day. The lodging was nice, but the available restaurants in the area were not that great. We even went out of the park for dinner one night and when we headed back in before dark, there was a line for miles of people leaving....
The property is well maintained but we found the parking (right outside our 3rd floor window) noisy well into the night and very early in the morning. The food options at Canyon Village were atrocious. National Parks are notorious for bad food, but the choices of places to eat here were dismal. The "Eatery", a mid-century throw back, seemed run down and a bit dingy. The breakfast selection reminded me of bad hospital food. They close between breakfast and lunch and between lunch and dinner, so you are out of luck if you don't eat at their assigned hours. As an alternative, there is a poorly lit small diner-style counter place that did not have menus. The grocery store was overpriced and the ready-made refrigerated sandwiches were stale and hard as a rock. The ice cream counter was closed when we went (7 pm). The coffee/pizza counter in the check-in building was closed at 10 am when I was checking out. No coffee. No muffins. No pastries. Nada. Zilch. If you opt to stay at Canyon Village, EAT ELSEWHERE or stay hungry.
