“The hotel offers a pleasant and welcoming environment, conveniently located for easy access. The room was exceptionally clean, and the staff were outstanding, courteous, and always ready to assist.”
Staff were very willing to help but the place just isn’t geared up to be a hotel anymore, it’s clearly been taken over by non-hoteliers who are managing it as best they can. Zero amenities you’d expect at a normal hotel like dining, facilities etc. cheap but not very cheerful.
I arrived in the supposed free car park, signs said we had to pay. No staff in reception, building and interior looked like a plush prison (not in a good way). I left immediately and booked another hotel.
This was the dirtiest hotel I’ve been to in a long time.
It smelled of excrement outside and inside after an argument about the room booked was led to the Bowles of the hotel to an unserviced room. It was so dirty that my elderly mum didn’t want to stay there. I was promised a refund but was obviously being fobbed off as 2 weeks later I still haven’t received it
The photos and overall rating of this hotel is a lie. I believe it was once a nice hotel but it is no longer. After a long wait at reception ringing the bell we was greeted by a man wearing blue gloves that he had just been cleaning with in scruffy clothes who took us to an uncleaned room with sticky bathroom floor, dead insects and used towels. The bed looked to have collapsed on one side and the code to room was a very secure of the room number followed by 2 zeros. We sought alternative accommodation for the night and will not go back there again
Hotel is in a nice location. And that is the only positive. Arrived to be told we have no electric in the room as previous guests caused problem (met another couple who had bene told the same thing about there room too). Rooms dirty with cobwebs and dust. We found empty food wrappers next to our bed. Outside was a mess with litter and beer cans all over. Very outdated furniture and alot of maintence work needed for things falling off walls and electrics exposed
This hotel is clearly a shadow of its former self. The service at reception was poor, with the doorbell not answered at all on the morning we checked out, meaning we almost locked ourselves out. Many of the amenities listed are no longer available. The window pane in our bedroom was broken, the curtain did not cover the window, and the carpet in the room was very dirty. The bedding and towels were clean. The car park at the front of the hotel is run by a private car parking company; we were told by the receptionist upon checking in that we did not need to pay if we left a review of the hotel.

Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
Bed was meant to be double but just okay for one person, too small for a couple.
There was much space for a super king bed instead.
Room was basic but quiet with views to the garden. Unfortunately, some occupants in other rooms were very noisy and slamming doors at early hours.
Good price for location, but a bit sad room.
Customer service needs a lot of improvement and a code on front door for people to make their own way; as we had to wait outside '30 min for someone to open the door to reception! It was rather dissapointing at 14:30 pm.

Completely not as described. I would avoid this hotel at all costs.
Arrived for a pre-booked stay. Told they were closed for health and safety repairs and they couldn't honour booking. Refused to refund and took money for a no show reason.
There was a loud fan running all night. Despite when booking it saying 24 hour check in I was told it was a good job I was there before midnight as they close. The carpet didn’t fit and had gripper showing at the edge. The bed lamp was rusty. The bathroom door looked new as it still had a piece of paper stuck to it with the size hand written on it. Shame it didn’t fit properly and stuck on the floor. Stains on the carpet and walls (coffee splashes etc) The cables for built in lights were left in junction boxes (safe but there should be lights there) no remote for TV.
Bedsheets & towels were clean
This is the worst ever experience I’ve ever had
After ferry delays late at night zero phone signal left half an hr before someone eventually answer the door to be told the hotel had a serious fire risk & waiting on an inspection the next morning
By this time it was past midnight & struggling to get alternative accommodation so had No option but to sleep across my seats leave unable to use my breathing machine
I will never use this booking service again can’t even spk to anyone regarding a refund
This is by far the worst hotel I have booked in all my years of travel and is to be avoided by anyone thinking of staying. The pictures on the website are of the hotel 5+ years ago when it actually looked that way. On arrival the place looked derelict, the grounds are overgrown and scattered with rubbish. The outside walls have huge chunks of plaster missing and exposing brickwork. Immediately I contacted Expedia for a refund. They then tried calling the hotel the request it back on the photo graphs I sent over in the support chat. The person who I presume was manning the entrance didn’t even pick up the phone. I then knocked the door and told him Expedia were trying to contact the hotel and he just called someone on a mobile and said I need to speak to them. At this stage the phone was ringing again and he still didn’t answer. The person on the phone told me their customer service would action the e-mail the following day and hung up. The inside was dirty and run down, empty beer cans in the table in what I presume was a lounge area. I then left and found another hotel. After this I found a local news article which highlighted the poor state of the hotel and that trading standards had been to the property due to the volume of customer complaints. This place is absolutely diabolical.
Slightly odd stay. The hotel is down a little lane. I didn't realise that there was a charge for parking until I arrived. You need to ring a bell to get in to the hotel and then you get let it. As I arrived there were some people who thought they had a room booked but the person working there could not find it. I was then checked in and taken to my room. Nothing about the hotel was explained. As we went to my room, some parts of the hotel looked grand with impressive furishings, others looked like they were still being refurbished. I saw signs for a bar & restaurant - and a health club - and asked about the bar and restaurant but that did not actually exist yet. There was no food or drink in the hotel.
Access to my room was via a pin code rather than a key. I was concerned that the pin for my room was very simple and had a relationship to the room number so it may have been possible to work out the other pins for other rooms if they followed the same format. I wasn't given anything to show that I had checked in.
My room was large and comfortable with a desk, good wardrobe space and a good comfortable bed. There were plenty of sockets but no USBs. The bathroom was a decent size and had a shower over a bath.
The person who had checked me in didn't say much, and when I came to check out at around 7am there were no staff to be found anywhere in the hotel. After searching for some, I left a post it note to say I had checked out.
It was fantastic staff were amazing they were so kind

Our stay was lovely friendly staff when they was around, breakfast was lovely. Down side was sauna not working and was only told about this On the Saturday. The views and grounds where stunning, we will return again at some point.
Beautiful hotel. Lovely friendly staff. Food was delicious, both evening meal and breakfast.
Our room was lovely.
Our only complaint was the people next door to us who thought it was ok to talk loudly, shout and have the tv on max till gone 2am. This is no reflection on the hotel and would definitely stay again.
