I keep telling myself it’s cheap and cheerful, and it is to some degree.. but it has a 4* sign as you drive in, and this just isn’t the case. Rooms are run down and have needed upgrading for years. The swimming pool has been “ under maintenance” on the 3 occasions I have stayed over the years, so I just question whether it is ever open. The carpets needed hoovering in the hallways and our room. It’s a shame because the bar/ kitchen staff seem to work really hard with what they have and are helpful and friendly.

The hotel was clean and generally well kept. We enjoyed a nice stay, but a couple of things would have made things better: - On checking in, the receptionist was very functional. We would have appreciated a welcoming smile as well as being told the relevant information. - The menu needs to be updated to show what is actually served. However, nothing to stop us from returning.
