Wismar’s Old Harbor, one of the most attractive spots in this cosmopolitan Hanseatic city, is right at your doorstep. This is the perfect base for exploring the city and its beautiful surroundings. By the way, the Old Harbor is an extremely popular venue for events and festivals—and it’s also the original filming location for *SOKO Wismar*, the well-known ZDF series!
The historic Old Town is only about a 10-minute walk away. Here you’ll find numerous shopping options, restaurants, and cafés, a vibrant array of leisure activities and nightlife, as well as sights and day-trip destinations. The city on the Baltic Sea and its events—such as the Swedish Festivals or the Harbor Days—attract over 500.000 visitors each year. The island of Poel is ideal for long walks on the beach. Here, you can stroll along the coast for hours in any weather and let the wind blow through your hair.

For those with a hearty appetite, there’s also the new Speicherladen, offering deli items, regional specialties, tarte flambée, Kaiserschmarrn, and drinks—all homemade with local ingredients. The nearby Ohlerich Speicher houses an Italian restaurant with a sun terrace, and just a few steps further, TV chef Steffen Henssler runs one of his popular “Ahoi” restaurants, serving maritime cuisine in a relaxed, inviting atmosphere.
