Charming cabin with a million dollar view

We stayed at the Cozy Cabin for a three-day fall weekend. It is conveniently located for easy access but delightfully tucked away in the woods. The view, looking out over the South Fork of the Shenandoah, is remarkable. The setting is serene without feeling isolated or inconvenient. We could even hear the water moving through the rapids and the leaves rustling. A perfect antidote to the city. The cabin is a classic. Small bedroom, medium kitchen, large great room. The furnishings, while not stylish, were comfortable and generous--and yes, cozy! We did light cooking (though could have easily done more as the kitchen is well-equipped), built a fire in the wood stove, and watched the world series thanks to a tv with satellite service. A great bluetooth sound system let us pick a soundtrack to some deeply satisfying lounging. If we had been more ambitious, there were plenty of books and games. Our only disappointment was that cloudy weather meant no star-gazing. We hope to return when, on a clear night, we can sit on the deck and appreciate the night sky too. John was a great, responsive host.

Great Getaway w/ Beautiful View and Property

My husband and I booked this property for our second wedding anniversary, and it was awesome. It's just far enough in the woods where you feel secluded but not so far from town that you can't get what you need. We brought our dog and she had a great time, too. There is a tether in the front yard that allows for the dog to be tied up and allow for plenty of exploration. I highly recommend exploring the trail out back which leads to the water. It is slightly challenging with loose rocks and parts are steep, so be careful with smaller dogs or young children. We also explored the 'cave' that you can find right after the wooden door. Very cool but there's nothing in there except for massive spiders and you can't go deeper than about 10 or 15 feet. The actual cabin is great and the heating and cooling systems are very efficient. The floor is a little splintery so make sure to bring slippers or very thick socks. Overall, very lovely and we will book again.

        Great Location

Comfortable, secluded log cabin, with a spectacular view of the Shenandoah river. We were minutes from the north entrance of Shenandoah National Park, where we hiked everyday. Would love to come back!

            Delightful cabin

This is a great place to stay. 10 minutes from supermarket and laundry for the body and 10 mins from the park entrance for the soul. Think rustic and be pleasantly surprised -warm, comfortable and well equipped with a fabulous view of the river. Every day of our week long stay was great, easy excursions to Washington and Harper’s ferry to get some touristic sightseeing, only wish we had had time for Charlottesville too. John was always on hand if needed, but the cabin worked too well for us to bother him. Would definitely stay again, perhaps when it’s cooler, to get the fireplace going. Happy memories for now,
