Charming cabin with a million dollar view
We stayed at the Cozy Cabin for a three-day fall weekend. It is conveniently located for easy access but delightfully tucked away in the woods. The view, looking out over the South Fork of the Shenandoah, is remarkable. The setting is serene without feeling isolated or inconvenient. We could even hear the water moving through the rapids and the leaves rustling. A perfect antidote to the city. The cabin is a classic. Small bedroom, medium kitchen, large great room. The furnishings, while not stylish, were comfortable and generous--and yes, cozy! We did light cooking (though could have easily done more as the kitchen is well-equipped), built a fire in the wood stove, and watched the world series thanks to a tv with satellite service. A great bluetooth sound system let us pick a soundtrack to some deeply satisfying lounging. If we had been more ambitious, there were plenty of books and games. Our only disappointment was that cloudy weather meant no star-gazing. We hope to return when, on a clear night, we can sit on the deck and appreciate the night sky too. John was a great, responsive host.
