We’ve been staying at the griffin for over 7 years now and it’s always out go to hotel when in Williamsburg. We love the size of the rooms and being able to walk into town. We plan to keep staying there for every future trip

I wasnt a fan. I had no idea Williamsburg Inn and Griffin Hotel were separate. I had to park at one, check in and then drive to another down the road. This after I paid $25 to park in the lot. The williamsburg inn as expected was very colonial, looked great. I was sent down the road. My bldg was newer looking on the outside, needed help on the inside. Shower was horrible. Funny to say rooms were dated! Its colonial williamsburg but maybe thats their excuse? Dont think I would stay here again

It was a beautiful stay. Comfy room. Quiet. My complaint was the room was quite warm for my taste and hard to cool it down without sleeping with doors open. Also ice machine wasn’t working. No microwave.

Our check-in was delayed an hour due to being at max capacity however, due to the close proximity to Merchant's Square, we walked down and enjoyed mulled wine at the Christmas Market until we were notified to check-in. The room is spacious and we will definitely be back!

I was very disappointed with the condition of the hotel and our room. Supposedly the Griffin Hotel has been renovated but it looks shabby. For a hotel associated with The Williamsburg Inn I expected much better. Having stayed here many years ago it appears the furniture is different, but I swear the carpet looks like it is from 1989. I actually checked my photo album when I returned home and I’m fairly certain I'm right. There isnt’t a square foot without stains or spots. We found at least 3 dead bugs, 2 in the room and 1 in the dresser. The bed only had sheets and a thin blanket, no duvet or topper. The extra blanket in the dresser was stained, and had a leaf and/or a bug stuck to it. I swear this blanket was one of the old heavy ones from the Williamsburg Hotels of the 80’s as well. Plastic cups, mismatched and used toiletries, a broken lamp, and a dead light over the sink were things that we dealt with, but other people might not care to. The size of the room was wonderful and the location of the hotel is as well. It would be a great place to stay if it was truly renovated.

We checked in upon arrival and they gave us a parking pass and we went snd enjoyed Williamsburg. They called when our room was ready. Our room was spacious snd clean. We were able to walk from our room to colonial Williamsburg. I will return to this hotel.

The check in was inconvenient as you have to register at a different hotel down the road. The hotel has no luggage carts or elevator. The toilet did not work and the taps leaked. The wifi is inexistant at least in our room. The bed was sunken in the middle. Only the surroundings outside save it from disaster.

The room was spacious and greatly appreciated by a family with three teenagers. It did smell a bit musky though, maybe it was the antique furniture in the room? We loved the gym, it was top rate for a hotel for sure. The staff was kind, the grounds were gorgeous! Loved the ease of being so close to Colonial Williamsburg. Would totally stay again.

Desperately needs renovation

There were a few major issues with our stay at the Griffin. 1. Check-in was disastrous. The room was not ready at 4, but only b 4:50. We had to check in at the Willlamsburg Inn, which is not the same building. We tried to check in three times,. with deep lines and unhurried receptionists each time. Total time waste -- about an hour. 2. The Griffin is a series of unattended buildings that appear to be of a 1980s vintage and have not been renovated since that time. 3. Did I mention that Hotels.com photos are HIGHLY MISLEADING? I attach photos of our actual room, to which we UPGRADED for an extra $20 per night, resulting gin total charge of $230 per night. Trust me, you would be far better off at Holiday Inn or Fairfield.

The Griffin Hotel has no amenities. You have to go to the Williamsburg Inn for any and everything ~ including a cup of coffee. The shower had ants crawling on the walls. There was hair piled up in a corner of the bathroom. There were only plastic and paper cups ~ no glassware. We waited at the Williamsburg Inn bar for 15 minutes for a bartender.
