About this property
The Stalls At Whitefish
Remember how fun it was to play in the loft of your granddaddy`s barn when you were a kid? Well, it`s still fun, but this ain`t your granddaddy`s barn.
The downstairs is all business. With eight stalls and paddocks with automatic waterers, a tack room, and a horse-wash station, your horses will feel right at home. If you`re bringing horses, there`s a separate boarding fee agreement that I can send you before you arrive.
The upstairs is well-appointed to suit your needs. This space was built for relaxation, so you can veg out watching TV, clean up in the rainfall shower after a day of hiking, riding, or skiing, or fall asleep watching the fireglow from your bed.
Only five miles from downtown Whitefish, The Stalls at Whitefish is conveniently close to restaurants and entertainment, yet it feels like it`s in the middle of nowhere. Bucolic at its best. In the summer, you can grill a steak and eat next to the campfire. In the winter, you can snowshoe, cross country ski (there`s even a groomed trail a few miles down the road), snowmobile, or head up to Big Mountain for a day of downhill skiing. No matter what you like to do, we`re close to it. And when the day is done, there`s no better setting in which to relax. Whatever your preference, come on over!
So that there`s no confusion on the number of beds/bedrooms, There`s a master bedroom with a king bed. There`s a bunk area just outside the bedroom with 3 bunks that the kids will love. And there`s a sleeper sofa in the living room.
The parking area is just outside the barn. Heck, I even put up a sign for you. Please don`t park inside the barn.
I`ll be happy to meet you if I see you, but I promise to not be clingy or creepy (ya know, like Jim Carrey in The Cable Guy).
In addition to the garden, there are many miles of logging trails (see map in the barn) for hiking, biking, 4-wheeling, horseback riding, or cross-country skiing. Please observe any signs marked `private`. Part of my property is reserved for myself. There`s also a neighbor to the south of me. Their drive is also marked by a sign. Please don`t go peeking into their windows, invite yourselves to dinner, or steal their dogs.
You are welcome to enjoy my vegetable/flower garden (look for the gate and sign to the pathway). It`s a great place to read a book or just listen to the bees buzz. You can pick some fresh herbs for your dinner or munch on a fresh strawberry. If you see a gopher in the garden, play Whack-A-Mole.

Planning a Micro Wedding or Elopement?
Our property is home to The Hitchin` Post, a charming micro wedding and elopement venue perfect for intimate celebrations. Whether you`re envisioning a private ceremony under the open sky or a cozy gathering with your closest loved ones, The Hitchin` Post offers a beautiful and memorable setting for your special day.
Ask us about availability, packages, or scheduling a tour during your stay—we’d love to help you bring your wedding vision to life.
No fireworks allowed. Smokey the Bear and I thank you.
No drugs, smoking, or vaping. Your body and I thank you.
Please don`t feed my cat if she comes around. And please don`t accidentally shut her in your vehicle, because she will definitely try to sneak in. In summer heat, it would prove fatal.
Unfortunately, pets are no longer allowed.
Call Doug at 406-300-2053 with any questions, concerns, or for horse boarding.
You are responsible for property damages. That`s not how I want to take your money, so please treat everything with respect.
