The Mountain Shadow Lodge

This stoic lodge offers a unique combination of serene lake views and close vicinity to downtown Whitefish (5 minutes) and the Whitefish Mountain ski resort (10 minutes). Public beach access via Les Mason State Park is just a minute away and Glacier National Park is a fifty-minute drive from your front door. This rustic home embodies the Montana way of life with its exposed timber framing and private location beneath the forest canopy.

The home includes three bedrooms and four bathrooms within its 3200 sqft floorplan; the rental sleeps up to ten people. One heated parking spot in the garage will keep your vehicle warm and dry during the winter months (the other bay is used for Owner storage). Two separate decks wrap the west side of the home and provide guests with breathtaking views of the lake beyond. Original artwork, top-of-the-line furnishings, and high-end finishes make this Montana rental a fantastic value.

The Space:

Entry through the front door leads guests to a massive living/dining area with vaulted ceilings and a plethora of windows looking over the lake; a half bath sits near the front door. The room is centered around a custom wood-burning fireplace built with locally sourced river rock. To the left, guests will find a fully-stocked kitchen with high-end appliances and a separate laundry/mud room with a commercially sized boot dryer. The primary bedroom sits off the right side of the living area. It features an enormous en-suite bathroom clad with custom rockwork, a private balcony with lake views, a walk-in closet, and a plush king-sized bed.

The lower level of the home features a great room that includes a half bath, a kitchenette, a dining area, and a living area stocked with games and puzzles. The living area also provides access to the massive patio space that sits under the upstairs deck. Continue down the hallway to find a large bunkroom with a twin over twin bunk bed and a queen over queen bunk bed. This room also includes its own bathroom. Beyond the bunkroom guests will find a second king bedroom with an ensuite bath.

This home sits in a private serene setting. During winter months it is required that renters have a four-wheel drive vehicle and/or snow tires to ensure safe access. Snowplowing, utilities, and landscaping are provided by the management company and are included in the rental rate.
