The Loft offers beautiful views across to Whitby Abbey and is ideally located on West Cliff close to the beach, the promenade and pier, and the centre of town which offers numerous restaurants, bars and takeaways all within a short stroll. The Loft is a stylish one bedroom apartment with exposed beams and skylight windows, with plenty of charm. You’ll have full access to the apartment during your stay, which includes a fully equipped kitchen, a dining area, a cosy living space, a bedroom and a modern bathroom.
The Space:
As a top floor apartment, the Loft has beautiful unspoiled views across Whitby and to the Abbey.
It boasts a welcoming and homely open plan kitchen, living and dining space. The living area includes a tan leather sofa and a flat screen TV so it’s the ideal place to relax after a busy day of exploring the coast. The kitchen features black, high shine cabinets and white brick style tiles to create a sleek look. Fully equipped with modern appliances and cookware, you’ll have everything you could need to make the most of your self-catering stay. The dining area includes a table and two chairs.
Head to the bedroom and you’ll find a comfortable double bed, a set of drawers with a rail, a mirror and bedside tables. There is a skylight window above the bed in the sloped ceiling so you can gaze up at the stars as you wind down for sleep.
Modern and clean, the bathroom has a deep bathtub with a handheld shower, WC and basin.
Guest Access:
Guests have access to the full apartment. The keys to the property are accessed via a secure key safe and full details will be provided shortly before your arrival date.
Please note the apartment is located on the top floor and the building doesn’t have a lift so it may not be suitable for those less physically able.
There are a number of pay and display car parks throughout Whitby and full details will be sent to you prior to your arrival.
The Neighborhood:
Located on the West side of Whitby on the West Cliff, The Loft is just a short stroll from the Blue Flag West Cliff beach and promenade, with direct access to the walk to Sandsend. In Whitby you’ll find fun arcades numerous fish restaurants where you can sample the catch of the day. Over the swing bridge, Whitby is full of narrow, medieval streets dotted with boutiques, independent shops, and various pubs. Climb the famous 199 steps up to the Church of Saint Mary and discover the renowned ruined Whitby Abbey, which was the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s gothic novel ‘Dracula’.
Near to Whitby you’ll uncover a haven of woodland and moorland. Whitby forms part of the North York Moors National Park so it’s the perfect place for long walks and the beautiful towns of Pickering and Helmsley are just a short drive away.
Getting Around:
The Loft is located in the centre of Whitby so the town can easily be explored on foot.
Whitby train station is just a short 15-minute walk away so villages and towns along the North Yorkshire coast can easily be reached via rail. There’s also a taxi rank in close proximity to the train station.
There are plenty of bus routes throughout Whitby. Hop on the X4 and you can visit beautiful coastal villages like Sandsend, Runswick Bay and Staithes. The X93 travels along the coast to Scarborough. The 95 route features plenty of quaint villages, such as Grosmont and Lealholm.
Other Things to Note:
The Loft is under new ownership from August 2026, and therefore any reviews prior to this date should bear in mind that prior maintenance points have been fully addressed.
