"The stay was really nice. My only suggestion is to furnish the rooms a bit more. The space was huge but not very well appointed--very plain and not welcoming if that makes any sense. Breakfast was fantastic and the front desk very friendly and helpful. Great location-walk to town about 15-20 minutes depending on which way you're going-downhill to town and uphill on way back. Not too bad at all. I gave it 4 stars because of the lack of decor in ours."

"This was PERFECT stay for us as we traveled around the west of Ireland. Everything was great. Even though they don't have their own car park (aka parking lot), there's a municipal one across the street for only 2 Euro. I do want to note that our room did not have an air conditioner. There was a fan in the closet, so I'm pretty sure that's accurate. If you travel there in the summer, and it's hot, you want to be prepared for that - especially for Americans expecting every place to have AC. We will DEFINITELY be going back to Westport and staying at The Mariner again."

"Very good stay at The Clew Bay Hotel - good sized room with a comfortable bed, delicious breakfast and friendly, helpful staff. It is central to shops and pubs, and walkable to the train station, and the quay (a lovely loop via the estate grounds and greenway)."
