Gem of a hotel

The hotel is in a quiet area just outside Groningen. Easy to reach by car and if you wish to visit the city centre the P+R is convenient. Car parking is free and plentiful. Our room had a balcony and views over the countryside. The room itself was spacious and spotless. The reception staff were polite friendly and knowledgeable. We had dinner on both nights of our stay in the restaurant which was in my opinion excellent. It offered a wide variety of dishes for a very reasonable cost. Again the staff were top class. If I am in the area again this hotel will be my go to.

Based on the pictures on Expedia, we were looking forward to a night at this hotel. And the pictures don't lie. The hotel is really great. the rooms feel new and modern. Good beds and a fantastic bathroom. Practical parking on the site. Nothing to complain about at breakfast. But.. be careful! the place is infested with flies! .. and the hotel admits the problem. In our room I had to kill 16 flies before we could go to bed for the night. It was a nightmare, and ruined the whole experience of this great place. Very sorry. So if you don't love flies, steer clear of this hotel!!!!!
