We will start with sharing that the unit manager did waive the cleaning fee on our rental. They were responsive but sadly didn’t have a unit we could move to or we would have moved immediately. We didn’t ask for a refund and cancel as we were tired from the drive and needed to just get dinner and sleep and move on in the morning. If you have allergies, do not rent here.We stayed for only one night with our two teens when visiting Purdue. We would never stay in this unit again, despite its great location.1- cleanliness. This place had a musty almost smoky smell that we noticed immediately- almost like wet dog smell, the sunroom had mold or mildew growing the the corner and smelled terrible so we kept that room closed off. From the front door (missing screen door- hinges still there, flaking paint everywhere, general lack of exterior upkeep), to the interior (general run-down feel, a few small insects) the unit needs significant deep cleaning and attention. We have rental units in our family so we know what will help- we suggest using kilz paint on walls and ceilings to rid the place of odors that have embedded in surfaces. Also pull out the carpet in the one bedroom, as well as the damp sunroom to get rid of moisture-holding materials.2-Location is great but unit needs TLC. Manager was so kind and very responsive, offering an air purifier but we were going to be there for one night and could tell that wasn’t going to remove odors. Once rehabbed this unit could be great!
