Good but could be better (for the money)

Our room was comfortable and fine. The furnishings were older, showing their age. The beds are basic aluminum frames set against a separate unconnected decorative headboard. The walls, doors, cabinets all need work. There were 3 ashtrays in the room and one on the balcony even though this is a nonsmoking resort but the room did not smell like smoke — just musty. Lastly, the walkway to the room, an angled walkway, is treacherous when wet. The grounds are lovely but details like the pool tile at waterline has not been cleaned of green algae and there are no towels by the beach. The best part, by far, is the restaurants and bar. Excellent food and ambiance and service, though be prepared for substantial delays and forgetfulness if they get busy. The managers are efficient and polite but not warm and engaging. Overall, a good stay in a beautiful place that needs some shoeshine, spit, and polish.

Lovely Stay!

At Sugar Mill Hotel we found a charming, cottage like accommodation. We had a view of the sea. Our hosts and all the staff were all helpful and friendly. The meals were excellent, and the atmosphere in the dining rooms perfect.

Overnight stay

Had an overnight stay there after one week sailing. Andrea and her husband are wonderful hosts. I enjoyed my complementary drink on arrival. My room was very spacious and had everything you could need during your stay. The housekeeping was so helpful and polite and was there if you needed anything. I ate lunch and breakfast in the beach restaurant. Food was good but not special and I didn’t find the staff particularly welcoming there. On the other hand, I could not fault the main restaurant and enjoyed a beautiful meal in the evening.

We had a great time! Everyone at Sugar Mill was friendly and helpful. The restaurant is very good and everything on the menu is fantastic. It,s close to West End to pick up ferries or charters and not too far from Road Town either. The property is beautiful with lush, tastefuly landscaped vegetation and great views of the water.
