Escape to our Great Lakes tiny cabin at Summer Haven, on 15 private wooded acres with its own lake. You will also be surrounded by all sports lakes in every direction, bring your boat we have plenty of parking. Enjoy catch‑and‑release fishing, hiking, and incredible stargazing. Inside: A/C, heat, a king bed, and a twin sleeper. Just steps away is a deluxe shared shower house and a nighttime toilet for added convenience. A simple, soulful retreat surrounded by nature.
The space
This is a 1 room tiny cabin with a shower house bathroom 25 steps away. The cabin does have a portable toilet for going #1 in the night. The cabin has bottled water and a hot water maker for coffee and other hot beverages. It has a small refrigerator to keep things cold and have some ice available. There is no indoor cooking facility. On the grounds there is a fire pit, picnic table, gas grill, lawn and lounge chairs, fifteen acres to roam and a catch and release fishing lake with bait included. The large front deck is a great gathering area to relax, use the grill or have great conversations. We are in northern Michigan in a mix of public and active farmland. This is a non operating dairy farm with many of the original building. We are working at getting it on the historical record. It has many stately old trees ranging from oak, maple cedar, pine and butternut. They all welcome a hug from our guest.
Guest access
Guest are welcome to roam the property and take a walk back to Lake Summer Haven. Farm outbuildings are off limits and could be dangerous to enter, appreciate them from a distance.

On arrival there is free parking with a pull cart to get your belongings to the cabin. We live onsite for good access if you have questions.
We are available for as much conversation as you feel comfortable with. You can even get a free beginners fly fishing lesson, the Rifle River is just a couple miles down the road if you like to fly fish. We are within 15 minutes of a variety of eating and drinking establishments. Chain restaurants, local eateries that we frequent, wineries and a brewery.
We do not spray our property with chemicals, so depending on the weather and season there could be bugs outdoors.
