The lake, with an 11 mile circumference, is a magnificent beauty spot which is famous throughout the UK for its scenic walks, cycle trails, and bird watching. The area is renowned for its green hills and mountains, castles such as medieval Powis Castle and gardens (National Trust), museums and the Montgomery Canal.
