Room was clean. Bedspreads either had dirt or paint on them. Bathroom looked unfinished. The check in staff was quick and friendly. When I checked out the lobby was filled with pot smell. We were stuck right by the office so it was extremely noisy. For the price, it wasn’t awful.

I booked this room from about 50 miles away. We were exhausted from our hike out of a canyon that day! When we arrived they informed me that he had cancelled our reservation. That we did not in fact have a reservation, even though I had a confirmation number, and my credit card had been charged. He said he could not refund my money, and that by him canceling the reservation that I “probably” would be refunded. This guy was very curt and uncaring about the time and money of mine that he put in jeopardy. He informed us that the entire top floor of the hotel was closed for the winter, and that my reservation , and our feelings meant NOTHING to him. Do yourselves a favor and drive past his crappy hotel. Even if you have to sleep in your car. These people deserve none of your money, and even less of your respect! Tom Bodette would be ashamed, but almost all of these roadside places are no longer safe, clean, or friendly. I’d go into greater detail, but it’s 2025 and someone would get offended. If you’re thinking it, it’s probably true.

Staff was veey helpful and generous with extra blankets and towels. Small-2 bed room was perfect for my budget. One of the beds kept us laughing- it was noisey. LOL Great place overall.

Room appeared to have recent drywall work done and there was spackle on the tv and some of the bathroom level surfaces had a layer of dust / debris. Spare TP roll had obviously gotten wet and left to sit as it had discolored. Significantly signs of water damage to the bathroom floor (while unsightly- functionally there was no impact). The sheets while fresh smelling did have grit or something on them - guessing drywall work.

I logged into hotels.com and listed Elko Nevada. I selected the second hotel which was Motel6. I walked into the hotel but when she didn’t get the reservation in 5 minutes we looked at it. It was booked in Wells, Nv. I called the wells hotel 5 times but no answer. The Elko hotel clerk called them and no answer. So I called Hotels.com and they called them too…NO ANSWER!!! So I booked the Elko Motel6 but I could see that Hotels,com had incorrectly listed the Wells hotel there twice and didn’t have the Elko one. What a hassle!! Hotels.com is working it to get the refund. Nikki at the Elko hotel was great. We tried to call the Motel6 again later with the same result in The evening and still no answer.

They gave me a wheelchair room and the floor was still wet in the bathroom. It was late and I was exhausted so I didn't start changing rooms since I already had brought my stuff in. Also the towels were like sandpaper. Paint peeling off the walls.

Great to take a break.

Great place to take a break! No problem with our 2 service dogs. It's been warm and comfortable stay. They are working hard on upgrading the property and every time we come thru they have a little more done.

The key card given to me didn't work. I had to go down to the reception three times to report the issue. I tried calling the reception to let them know, but no one answered. It was already around 11 PM, and it was cold. I expected a staff member would check on it. On my fourth trip down, the elderly staff member told me to use the master key but instructed me to return it to him personally, as he would be held responsible otherwise. The room was not clean and had a bad smell. The AC was making a disturbing noise, and the sink was leaking. There was a dead fly on the floor, and I doubt the bedding was clean. We were also missing towels and toiletries. The elderly staff member said he couldn't provide more and would ask about it the next day. I don't recommend this place, especially for families with kids. While it's affordable, basic cleanliness standards should be met. I like how it is close to a gas station and McDonalds for a quick breakfast before hitting the road again.
