Parking was in the road outsodethe Richmond Guest House. The owner validates your vehicle to park. Check in was a little later than we advised as our ferry crossing dictated our arrival in Wellington. Our host was fine when we ipdatrd our arrival time once the ferry departed South Island. Breakfast was included and was enjoyed by both of us.

Had a lovely stay at Richmond guest house. Very clean, well organised, quiet, spacious rooms and convenient location. The free parking is organised by the lovely owner John, who emails the council your number plate (and then that is confirmed by the Wellington City Council). This meant I had an stress-free stay for 4 nights with safe on-street parking. I had read the reviews of this property beforehand regarding uncertainty around the free parking, however Johns system with the council is legitimate as I saw the Wellington City Council email conversation with John regarding adding the number plates to the residential parking for the days guests stay at the accomodation. Just thought I would clear that up to help any future guests with their decision to stay if they had worries about it! Highly recommend this place!!

Great stay all around! Perfectly convenient location to explore the CBD or grab a bus to points further afield. Our room was comfy & clean, with plenty of windows for natural light, but equipped with curtains to have a peaceful rest. The Innkeeper, John, is a pleasure & a delight. He provides lovely hospitality including a very friendly breakfast service, which included such a variety, something for every taste. We will stay here again.
