About this property

Quiet Farmhouse come enjoy the peace and quiet ,takes you back to a simpler life

Summary:

Come enjoy a peaceful stay in the woods at "Quet’s place" a serene gravel road through historic Richloam will lead you right up to your getaway. Relax and take a swing on the front porch and watch the wild turkeys pass by or bring the whole family for a thrilling vacation. "Quet’s place" is only one hour from all major Florida theme parks. Whether you are looking to get away from it all and relax in the country or have the thrill of a lifetime with your family, this is the place to be! This is a place like no other. Lots of history on that hill as it is still a family farm that has been in our family since 1862. If it could talk you would hear of stories about gathering cows , cow whips popping, hunting gators or maybe deer an turkeys. You would hear about the hard work and struggles that it took to keep it all going . One thing our family had was faith in God. He is why this place is still standing. Last year we had a bad hurricane , a tornado took the top hickory tree out front and dropped it right beside the corner of the house. Took both front and side porch off but never damaged the house. We love this place we ask you to treat it gently with love and care. I hope that each one of you leave here feeling better than you came .

The Space:

In 1959 the house was built by long time cattle rancher and true Florida Cracker, Quet (Pronounced “Queet”) Boyett. Alongside his wife of 60 years, Frieda Boyett, they made the house a home. The home is among several in the community of Clay Sink. Centuries and generations have raised kids, crops and livestock here. The house was recently renovated in 2022. New furniture and decor has breathed new life into this true farmhouse while keeping many of the original elements of the home. For example, On the kitchen cabinets you can see Quets cattle brand he placed there himself.

Two bedrooms with plenty of space and storage. A full bathroom in between the two, complete with shower, toilet, sink and a vanity space. The front bedroom has a california king bed and the back has an individually Tempurpedic king size bed. The front living room has a large bunk bed for extra guests or your kiddos, a full size mattress on the bottom and a twin on the top.

Enjoy a meal at the dining room table or a quick bite at the high top in the kitchen. The kitchen is complete with an oven and stove, sink, microwave, coffee pot and keurig. Feel free to cook and enjoy a meal where the family did so many times.

The den is a cozy and comfortable space in the house with a large couch and electric fireplace. Watch a movie on netflix and chat with your traveling companions in this space. You'll notice out of the back window we have a corn feeder that feeds many wild turkey, sandhill cranes and deer. At any point throughout your stay you can enjoy the sight of these animals from the comfort of the couch.

The front porch and back patio ( under the old oak tree) are very special to the home and unique to one another. The back patio provides a place gather at the picnic table for a meal or a spot to see the feeder and the backwoods. The cook shed provides a place to eat with 4 stools and Weber Charcoal grill .The front porch is a sanctuary to relax and unwind. Grab a coffee or tea and take a seat on the porch swing built by Quet himself. Enjoy the 10 acres of open pastures and woods, country road and giant Florida oak trees that adorn the property.

***Unfortunately we lost many oak trees and part of the roof to our carport and our back porch completely. We are waiting for repairs to be done in those areas and still cleaning up the property thankfully the home was not damaged at all . It is still as wonderfully as ever. ***

***Your furry friends are welcome to travel to Quet’s place with you! We charge a $99 pet fee to keep the house clean for all guests.***

if you are bringing a pet please let us know , if not I will apply the fee to your account.

Guest Access:

You will have full access to the home and front and backyard . Please do not go past the hedge toward the red barn or over to the yellow barn , hurricane debris is still there. We are in the process of clean up. There is a large yellow barn in the front of the property that is used for storage and farm Equipment and will remain locked. In the backyard you will see the original barn the family built in the 1800s. While we encourage you to view the barn from a far and enjoy the characteristics of it we do ask that you do not touch or enter any part of it for your own safety. The barn is a very precious part of the families history and we want to keep it preserved for many years to come.

The Neighborhood:

The community is all family spread across open pasture land and woods

Getting Around:

There is a 2 space car port and open parking too

This house was not exactly what I/we thought it was going to be. It is the actual farmhouse on what is, or was, a working ranch and possibly still lived in by the owners when not rented out. It does feel like you are staying in a real home even though there are numerous items staged to make it feel a little different. We enjoyed our short stay here, it is indeed very tranquil, my sister and I really enjoyed sitting on the porch watching the hummingbirds and cardinals. The only negative was the outside of the house, especially the grounds, which were rather unkempt. There is a section of the roof on the back side of the house that looks like it has storm damage that really needs repairing. The farm is situated in the Richloam Wildlife Management area and most of the lengthy road leading to the farm is dirt but well maintained and smooth. One nice surprise that I did not recall seeing mentioned anywhere was the Richloam General Store, which is an absolute must visit. It is on the way in and a total step back in time with some great goods, candy and history thrown in. A massive thanks to the renters for leaving basic provisions in the fridge. This is something I have not experienced at all before and came in handy for a breakfast. There was also two tubs of banana cream pudding gifted in the fridge, my absolute favorite desert. How special is that!! Worth five stars all day long. Everything worked as it should, beds were great, the house is extremely comfortable.

Home was and someone currently lives there. Someone else’s bar soap and hygiene was all over

Sucked bad. Hurricane damage and was not changed in pictures on VRBO, cluttered and dusty old house, I would never rent it again. Food in frig, it was like going to an old Aunts house, no place for our belongings separate from whomever lives there.

Loved our time at Quets place. It helped us get through a rough time during hurricane damage renovations at our house and it made us feel right at home . The owners are amazing and thorough with details of the what to know and quick to reply. Good energy all the way and would highly recommend to anyone trying to get away to a peaceful quiet homegrown place

Wonderful farm house

We came here the help the community due to the flooding. This was a wonderful, relaxing retreat to come back to every night. There was plenty of room for the 4 of us to spend time together and have our own space when we needed it. We would definitely come back here again.

This is a nice country house on a quiet cattle and horse ranch. Peaceful area away from the busy towns and city. It's just a hour and half away from Tampa, or Orlando if needed. The house is very comfortable inside and out, plenty of space for everyone.

Quet's Place

Great property if you enjoy a rural area and don't mind gravel roads. Great wildlife, hiking trails and livestock. As stated in description, house and area has a lot of history. Great location if you want the feel of central Florida and lots of privacy. Groceries and most restaurants 20 - 30 minutes away.
