Set among the trees and within walking distance of Clark Gardens, The Retreat is a distinctive home designed for gathering, relaxing, and making memories together.

With three bedrooms, multiple living spaces, and accommodations for up to ten guests, the home is well suited for wedding parties, family gatherings, group getaways, and extended stays. Three separate living rooms provide space to connect, celebrate, or simply spread out and relax.

The fully equipped kitchen makes meal preparation easy, whether you're cooking for family, hosting breakfast with friends, or arranging catered meals for a special event. Outside, guests can enjoy the swimming pool, hot tub, trellised decks, open courtyard, and peaceful wooded surroundings.

Designed by architect Richard Wintersole, The Retreat received both a Merit Award and a Citation Award from the Fort Worth Chapter of the American Institute of Architects in 1990. Its thoughtful design creates a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor living, with upstairs bedrooms opening onto private balconies overlooking the woods.
Complimentary admission to Clark Gardens is included with every stay, allowing guests to enjoy 35 acres of botanical gardens just steps from the property.

Whether you're attending a wedding, celebrating a special occasion, or simply looking for a place where your group can gather comfortably, The Retreat offers a one-of-a-kind stay in the heart of Clark Gardens.

The Retreat

It was a beautiful secluded and spacious property. Our family enjoyed the weekend and it was a wonderful place to relax and grill outdoors after long days outdoors at the nearby SCCA racing venue. We definitely recommend the property and will stay there again in years to come!

The Retreat

It’s a great place. I have been here before but it’s been about 10 years ago. I love the house design and layout. It’s accommodating and feels home. I love being able to walk to the gardens and be outside. The pool is nice too.

Beautiful place!

I don’t think the pictures or description adequately describes how very cool this place is. You think you are in the middle of nowhere and then this lovely home is situated right by an amazing botanical park. We were here for a wedding and there was plenty of room for everyone and great large spaces for us all to gather together. It was also so interesting to read about the history of the house and the gardens. Would definitely recommend!

Outside Grounds Need Care

other than the thousands of rolly polly bugs and the scorpion that was killed in the bathroom, the house was GORGEOUS! It was obvious that the owners must leave for guests as there was too much personal hygiene products in the showers and other areas of the house. TX had alot of rain prior but the caretakers need to clean up the patio area prior to guest arrival. The seat cushions were covered in green moss and the pool was a bit dirty. The outside area was peaceful until we killed the tarantula by poolside. The area is definitely 'off the beaten path' and peaceful but the caretakers could make this experience far nicer to bring cushions in.

Beautiful solitude

We had an amazing experience at The Retreat! The house is very spacious and well stocked. We enjoyed long walks at the Clark gardens and just admiring the picturesque scenery. We will definitely come back another time!

We enjoyed ourselves at this house. We didn't realize it was two sides to the house. This is a beautiful house. The only thing was that we not able to get into the pool. It had so many acorns, leaves and seem a little dirty because of the things falling from the trees. Other then that great house. We enjoyed our stay and will visit again. Thanks
