The photos are deceptive, it is an old motor lodge that has been cheaply and poorly remodeled. Window wouldn’t close, sits on noisy highway, and the TV was broken It is way over priced for what you get. Towels and sheets were nice if you don’t mind sleeping on an extremely soft mattress.

Room in much needed repair. Sheetrock cracked and broken tiles in bathroom. Floor would make your feet dirty. Shower handle was broken. My room was switched and the air conditioning was broken in that room. Both rooms smelled very musty. I ended up after one night on what was a wedding anniversary trip with my wife. Watkins glen is a nice town and beautiful place. I would recommend avoiding staying here

We didn’t expect a fantastic hotel for the price, but we were disappointed by a doorknob coming off, a broken cabinet drawer, and their free wifi would not come up for my wife and I. The AC filter was also filthy and we had to clean it before using the AC. The location is right in the middle of town, and check in and check out is super easy, so that was the hotel’s saving grace.

In our experience the management/staff seem to believe that contactless check-in also means contactless stay. We had no way to communicate that we had multiple problems (toilet, tv, lights) with our room. I was not able to leave a message with the phone number that was provided, email and text didn’t work. Finally, spoke with someone who was rude and condescending. A bad experience overall. But the free ice cream (which was good) at the on-site creamery helped us feel a little bit better. LOL

The property owner was great. Very friendly and welcoming. Great location. Perfect walking distance to the Gorge and Seneca Lake. The room was clean. Our bed was a bit soft but slept well. We would stay again.

The owners are fantastic! The ice cream was delicious! You can’t beat the location! The facilities were old fashioned, but well cared for. And I feel they compensated for that with a very reasonable price.

Television did not work. Staff was unable and frankly didn't care about fixing the problem. No housekeeping. No paper products (i.e.- toilet paper in bathroom, etc), 2nd day in... No electricity. Had to threaten filing complaint w/ local police in order to try yo attempt to do anything about that. Manager would not offer to put us in a different room. Staff so uncaring that we decided to leave and find another place to stay for the rest of our trip. Manager also runs an ice cream parlor downstairs. Has a nearly impossible job of trying to run that AND run a hotel at the same time. Problems I suspect with the whole building. Owner is offsite and not a part of day to day operations. In talking with some of the locals, I suspect this is an ongoing kind of thing eith this place. Would definitely recommend you DO NOT BOOK A STAY AT COLONIAL INN & CREAMERY. You'll likely regret it.

What they call contactless checkin means there is no staff, no front desk, no way to contact them. They provided several phone numbers that nobody would answer and was not set up to accept messages. We left a day early because we could not sleep on the broken bed again, rugs were filthy and constant black flys flying around, grounds were not kept up, very cramped room, just could not look past so many things not to normal standards…

Near State Park. Watkins Glen. Check In was terrible. You need code to get in room that I never received. Took 30 minutes before owner with code finally appeared. Whose fault it was I did not get code is unclear. TV did not work most of the time. Other wise room was clean and recently fixed up. Property outside needs paint job on porch and stairs. Owner says she is fixing things now.
