Nice stay and beautiful lake view!

If you want an amazing lake view each morning for a reasonable price, this is the place. Beautiful view of the lake. Our particular room had a view below our balcony of what looked like some left over construction material which would add to the ambiance if removed. It didn't bother me, but trying to give a true picture for others. The fall weather is perfect right now for enjoying the outdoors, and staying here we were very close to Watkins Glen State Park and all the wineries and breweries surrounding the lake. The inside of all these rooms have been completely remodeled. This isn't a 5-star hotel, however, the room was neat, nicely decorated and comfortable. The bathroom was completely renovated--it was small, but fine for the two of us. There is no exhaust fan for pulling moisture out of the bathroom, so the mirror fogs up, but can be wiped down with a towel of course. The shower had great pressure, and was relaxing. The caulking around the bottom edge of our shower needs to be cleaned better. Staff were friendly, and the Laurel grill had a great bar for watching sunday night football. There is a beautiful deck for sitting out in the evening, we just weren't able to use it since we had gone to the wineries and breweries. Not enough moonlight to light up the lake, but they had string lights across the deck and would make a nice evening to talk and mingle with other guests. Would stay here again!

Nice updated motel with great views

We (two adults two younger kids) came to Watkins Glen for race weekend and this was one of the last places available. We lucked out! This is a clean, comfortable motel with excellent views of Seneca Lake. Kudos to the new owners for breathing new life into the property. If we're back for another race we'll be back.

We were pleasantly surprised by this business. It is an old motel that has been thoroughly updated. The rooms were in very good shape, and clean. The view of the lake from the balcony was excellent. And the restaurant on premises was surprisingly good. I would go here again.

The view is worth it. Food at dinner was very good. Room nice esp with balcony. Shower needs a rail to hold on to. Very slippery and unsafe with no where to hold on to at all.

When I first pulled up, I’ll admit I was a little unsure—the outside has that old roadside hotel look. But once inside, I was pleasantly surprised! The rooms have been completely updated, modern, and spotless clean. It’s right on the water, which made the stay even better. What started out with hesitation ended with me being very satisfied and happy I chose this place. We even ate at the restaurant overlooking the lake and it was fabulous!

The bathroom floor & toilet were not clean-the tv was not plugged in & the remote didn’t work until we got batteries replaced- which Rich was fast to respond. But the TV should be plugged in. Checkout was 11-we left for a bit & had everything out but food & beverages in the fridge. We came back at 10 to check out & the cleaning staff had already cleaned the room & removed our fridge items. Luckily, we saw them coming out of the room & got our items back. The bed was ok, the room itself was not comfortable but was good enough for one night. Great view from the room so that was a plus but overall not as good as it could’ve been.

Great stay!

While the room was basic, all the amenities we could need were available. It was extemely clean and comfortable and the view from our balcony was beautiful. Having a lounge and restaurant with views was an added bonus. Very friendly staff.

Cute and clean but older hotel.

This was home base for exploring the finger lakes region. The hotel was older but was cute and clean and had everything we needed. Housekeeping was based on our preferences and we just had towels replaced regularly. The view of the lake was wonderful from the balcony. Breakfast in the restaurant was good with good service.

The view here is amazing! They have done a great job in updating the property and it’s very clean. However, it is very dark around the unit at night- not safe for walking after dark. There is no exterior lighting around the “100 Units”! We walked in under the light of our cell phones! Please install some low voltage security lighting for your guests. But, the view …did I mention?? It’s incredible!

Don't get SCAMMED like we did! I booked The Laurel in high anticipation of enjoying that gorgeous, unobstructed, PRIVATE balcony view perfect for our wedding anni... right? WRONG!! Come to find our room at the bottom of a hill where 6 rooms sit ground level. My heart sank the second we pulled up DİRECTLY in front of our room's window. We got the view of a parking lot, guests/staff walking by, and 2 cars blocking any scenic landscape. Paid a considerable amount to keep the curtain closed now?? NO where in the description did it state they even have ground level rooms or I would have called to secure what is presented online, otherwise we wouldn't have booked it! We got the roadside motel experience for the same price as other guests with the million dollar view/private balcony. We asked to move since surely they'll make this right being that this is false advertising, right? WRONG AGAİN! Frontdesk was kind enough but fully booked, out of her hands. I contacted Expedia for some compensation for THEİR false ad, and the rep said "balcony is upon request". İ asked her to tell me exactly where it states that. No answer, because it's another LİE. Go ahead & read everything like I did: Policy, Amenities, About, İmportant to Know sections... NOTHİNG about possibly being thrown into a parking lot room. Expedia offered "key points" as compensation, which only covered the room tax. What a joke! Better call this place for what's ADVERTİSED so as not to get SCAMMED like we did!
