Rooms in the Lux building are what I recommend. They are newer, cleaner, and quieter. Better breakfast than most hotels. Definitely the best place to stay in Watford.

The decor was educational, quaint, a little old but it was so inviting. Very clean inside, outside needed some attention but there are workers staying there. Room very comfortable spacious but walls are not very sound proof. The breakfast both days was fantastic. I am on a cross country trip so it was really nice to have hot food and a large selection. I stayed 2 nights and never expected my bed to be made or linen replaced after my first night but they were. The staff extremely friendly and helpful. I would like to take the hotel with me as I continue my travels. I highly recommend and would love to come back.

The Roosevelt Inn is a historic hotel for Watford City. I heard the (now) governor of North Dakota talk about how he used to stay there when he was working in Watford City as a lawyer. It is very convenient to downtown, to the Rough Rider Center, to the McKenzie Ag Expo and of course the Northern part of the Theodore Roosevelt National Park. Come stay here and admire the big TR bust in front and the 10 foot tall sunflowers along the walkway to the reception.

Our room was run down…in desperate need of an update/renovation. The AC when turned on was noisy. The bed was very old and made a lot of noise when moving around. Also uncomfortable. We were in the older part of the hotel though. On the bright side, the breakfast was VERY good and included many options and even had fresh cut fruit which most places don’t have.
