Full Disclosure:

1) This is a newly renovated basement unit (below ground) with private guest entrance. Basement, English Basement, Garden Apartment, Walk-in Basement, whatever you call it, in full-disclosure it is a unit that is partially below ground. It’s still stunning, but worth noting.

2) Being an old home, we have installed sound proofing throughout, but you may still hear the kids running around at times!

3) We recommend reserving a place in NW DC if you are looking to walk to the monuments.

As our guest, you'll enjoy the convenience of free off-street parking, ensuring you can explore the city with ease. If you prefer, there's also free street parking available in our Historic Deanwood neighborhood.

Grab a book and get cozy on the sectional sofa. The National Mall is about a 15-20 minute drive. We are 5.5 miles from University of MD Hospital, and close proximity to other medical centers in DC.

This was my first VRBO experience. The unit itself was quite lovely and spacious. The host was kind and able to answer inquiries quickly. The kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms were accommodating. Neighbors were friendly. The only issue was the noise from the tenants above the unit.

The space was very clean and fit our family's needs perfectly. The kitchen was well-stocked, and the rooms were comfortable. Communication with the the owner was easy, and he addressed our concerns. It is a basement environment, so there are noises above, but that is specified in the description, so we expected it.

The venue was well organized, very clean, and nicely accommodated. I appreciated the fair pricing and would definitely recommend it. However, one drawback was the check-out time of 11:00 AM; the door code stopped working at 10:00 AM. I understand this may have been due to the recent change in daylight saving time, but I found it inconvenient to be locked out at 10:30 AM.ocked out at 10:30 AM.

First the property comes up as an entire home however, be prepared to read the entire property description because it is in fact a basement unit. The initial communication went well as far as providing the address to the location and check in instructions. However, the unit had an odor upon arrival. There was the odor of fish covered by a strong floral air freshener. This immediately caused me to have an allergic reaction . The host showed up at the property only to provide additional air freshener in which I explained I was sensitive to and could not use. i ended up having to receive medical care because of this. I was informed the owners had an ozone machine to purify the air but could not use this while the home was occupied. At that point I requested a cancelation and refund and it was refused. The host later insulted me and was extremely dismissive about our concerns even said there was nothing wrong with me and there was no smell. There were 3 people saying differently and they did not care. We ultimately had to close ourselves in the bedrooms until we could locate other accommodations. Also, their listing states that sound proofing insulation has been used to help with noise from the upstairs tenants but you MAY hear the children. We heard them walking, playing, running water, slamming things and having conversations from 5pm to 7am the next morning. We got little to no sleep and ended up leaving the unit. This stay was a nightmare.
