Hotel Hive is the perfect micro hotel for solo travelers coming to the D.C. area. Hotel staff, Sansa & Max are awesome! They will make sure you are comfortable, welcomed, and have everything you need to enjoy your stay. If you need restaurant recommendations or ideas for activities, they will hook you up! The staff was very warm and welcoming at check in. It’s a great micro hotel. The elevator is a smidge slow. But it’s an older building and it does what it needs to do. The room was great. The bed was comfortable and the curtains really kept the light out. Lots of outlets which are a necessity these days. Overall it was a great stay. If we’re ever out here again we would definitely stay again.

I had a truly great time at this hotel. The room was very clean and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The location was also ideal for my trip, I was attending a wedding reception at the Kennedy Center. The only issue was lack of hot water in the shower for my stay on Friday night and Saturday. When I checked out on Sunday, there was hot water. I understand that issues can happen, other this I would have given an excellent rating. Despite this, I would consider staying here again in the hopes that this problem was isolated.

Very upscale while staying true to its minimalist idea. Best in class customer service from the front desk concierge to the bartender. Bed was not that comfortable, could have gone with a better manufacturer like Winkbed, Leesa, or Saatva. Parking needs to be better explained at check-in with regards to discount ticket - how to use, daily returns to garage, etc. Suggest a handout be created with clear instructions.

We would have liked an extra sheet in addition to the blanket cover, and a second window curtain that would allow light but also some privacy. Otherwise the room was functional and easy to access. I am a GWU preceptor and my wife a PHD graduate so it was cool staying in the area and seeing the university changes.

The bed was very comfortable—however, there was a very mildew-y smell in the whole room that detracted from the experience. At first I thought it was because I was on the lower floor but I didn’t notice it in the hallway, just in my room. Also, I didn’t mind the room and bathroom being small but there was no way to shower with the bathroom door open, which made that room stay a little damp.
