I like the location of this hotel, the staff are very nice, and the room was a nice size and very clean. (It's close to Dupont Circle and the metro. You can also walk downtown easily) However, I encountered many problems. First, I arrived at the hotel and discovered that there was no air conditioning during a very humid week. They did provide a fan and the window could open. In addition, I was given the option to be refunded and find another hotel. Arriving late at night, I wished they had told me sooner. It was too late to handle that after a very long day of travel. Second, the hair dryer broke on the first day and then after cleaning the room, didn't leave any towels or a fresh robe. I had to chase down staff to get a towel. One evening a person who likely had been out drinking was banging on my door, insisting it was their room. Had to call the front desk and they sent up security. The wifi was also very spotty and I was staying in the hotel because it was recommended by the university running the conference I was attending in D.C. Some of the conference was on zoom, so not knowing whether the wifi would work created additional anxiety. Lastly, the fridge stopped working on the last night of my stay. In each instance, staff responded promptly and calmly, but it was just too much in the end. The management needs to look at making sure all rooms are properly cared for. This hotel could be a great place to stay with better oversight.
