Poor service

I have never been treated so rudely while checking in. I was not welcomed, having my ID in hand the only words spoken to me during check I was “I need your ID to start”. She lightly tossed the key card on the desk in my direction and never shared anything about the room number or amenities at the hotel. I will not be back to this hotel. There are too many choices in life and I choose to be around happy people.

Great stay at AKA

The AKA White House was perfect for our family of four. We got a two bedroom apartment which was spacious and had a full kitchen with everything we needed to make simple meals at home. It was extremely clean and the beds were comfortable.

I want to start off by saying: this location is dealing with a mosquito/bug issue! We kept getting bites in our room and in the lobby. We told staff about it and it kept being an issue. I was going to rate the place mostly positive but the bugs really ruined the experience. I attached a photo of a bug bite (not from a mosquito) that one of our little ones got last night. It is unacceptable for a 4 star hotel. Aside from the mosquitos, the hotel was good. Great location, nice beds and bathrooms, full featured kitchen and laundry in unit. Window view of city was fantastic. Gym was large and well featured. So overall good find for the price. We did have some issues with housekeeping on check in and in general staff was very argumentative. We found issues with the room when we checked in and the housekeeping staff argued with us that we caused the mess (hadn’t even been in the room 5 minutes). Those issues were addressed but this story kept repeating itself. We would bring an issue or problem up and staff would either blame us or dismiss the issue. If there wasn’t a bug issue this place would 4/5 but with the bugs it’s a 2/5. I wouldn’t recommend going with the current bug issue. We went all over DC and this was the only place that had a mosquito problem.

We had a really nice 6 day stay at AKA White House. It was great having an apartment like room to live out of for the week. Conveniently located near restaurants, museums and attractions. The Metro made getting around easy with a stop being a block away. We would stay there again.

This was an excellent propery for my family's stay in Washington. We stayed in a 2 bed apartment and were delighted with the space and quality of the furnishings. All staff were very friendly and helpful. AKA The Whitehouse was only a few minutes walk from the actual White House itself in what. It was straightforward to reach all the sites we wanted to visit. A shout out to The Founding Farmers restaurant for delicious breakfasts and to Andy's Pizza -fab pizzas!

Great place to stay in DC. Only about a block from a Metro Train Station if you want to go somewhere but easily walkable to DC highlights like an evening walk to the Mall and Lincoln Memorial. There’s a Panera, McDonalds, sub shop right on the same block if you need quick food. The hotel was very quiet at night and the accommodations were spacious. We had an entire 2-bed 2-bath apartment for ourselves and son for much the same price as a regular hotel room in the area.
