"The pictures in the listing are generally accurate, except the lake level is substantially higher now. The cabin itself was clean, snug and cozy. We were almost disappointed that we couldn't hear the waves inside. The cabin worked well as a central base for checking out Hayes Lake, Franz Jevne and Zippel Bay State Parks.
The ad lists the cabin as having two queen beds and a sofa sleeper. There is actually 1 full size, one twin, and a sofa sleeper. There is also some sort of flat sofa that could work as an extra bed.
There were plenty of dishes, pots and pans, etc. for making meals. There were two coffee making options, a stove-top percolator or a large electric urn percolator. I don't know whether the oven doesn't work or I just couldn't figure it out.
Jason was very responsive. We texted when we were having trouble finding the cabin and he dropped us a pin on a map in seconds. Neither Google or Apple maps lead you to the correct spot, so be sure to ask Jason for that dropped pin. Peter met us at the cabin and showed us around the property.
The ad doesn't mention it, but the bathroom is in an outbuilding. It's fully functional, but as the listing says, it's a rustic cabin. Don't expect the Taj Mahal.
As I said, the cabin was clean, but the bathroom, gazebo and outdoor furniture seemed neglected with dead bugs on the wall, cobwebs, mold.
All in all, a pleasant stay but it could have been better."
