We have stayed many times and really enjoy the friendly and efficient staff and the effort of the grounds staff to keep it looking really well kept. The hot pools are a real draw card. The rooms are clean and staff do a good job servicing, but showers over baths is not great for older clients. This is gradually be changed but pays to ask if you don't want a bath. New management have reduced some benefits, eg. free breakfast for members and no 'welcome back' gifts. The grounds are lovely and the walk along the hot natural stream has potential for development to add to the stay experience. We ate in and the meals were reasonably priced and good quality. Drinks were a little pricey! We look forward to our next stay.

The resort facilities such as heated pool, spas, and sports grounds were great features. The breakfast as adequate. The staff were excellent at reception, bar and breakfast area. The rooms are due for a renovation as well as the gym. The grounds were beautifully kept. Overall a great, relaxing family stay. Will be back for sure!

It was lovely to be greeted with big smiles and wee chats, thank you Milla. We appreciate the upgrade. Carpet wasn't in good condition. Mouldy bottle under the bed and old juice still in the fridge. Was great for a stover on the way South as handy to the motorway. Friendly, welcome staff on our late night arrival. Easy to find room. Although a little aged, was a comfortable bed and spacious room.

Value for money Excellent. Facility is getting tired looking but it is still comfortable and as a 1 stop holiday destination is untouched with all the sports activities and relaxing. -3 degrees this morning and to hop into a 37° pool is amazing I will be back.

We have stayed at the Wairakei on numerous occasions and have always loved it there. The hot pool is superb, and the beds are really comfy. The staff have always been obliging and helpful. We also love the casualness of the place where you don't have to dress up for dinner etc. We would definitely recommend this hotel to others

A favourite of our family. Never disappoints. Great, friendly and helpful staff. Very clean rooms and lovely grounds. The restaurant food was yummy, great portions and affordable. Cut the trip short as our eldest wasn’t well, staff upgraded us and put us in a quieter and bigger family suite. Was very grateful for that. We will be back. Thank you.

Good location and clean rooms. However, housekeeping was not up to mark. We stayed there for two nights, but the bathroom shower gel was never topped up. There was very little in the bottles and we just managed to do with it.

Lovely setting. A little bit out of the way. Restaurant and bar prices a bit on the high side. To far to drive into town for a cheap and cheerful. All the staff were lovely and very accommodating with any queries or requests.

Cosy, great facilities.

Great location, friendly front staff and great facilities. We booked for 3 people (1 adult, 2 children) and no rollaway bed was present (checked in at 9:30pm so too late to sort). All 3 had to share the king bed. Also only 2 towels were in the room. TV wouldn't work, but not a big deal.
