We had an excellent stay, in spite of two obstacles. First obstacle was our original location, and the fact that mold found. However, this was rectified, prior to our arrival, by the property management, with the offer of an upgrade, which we took! The second obstacle Was the tsunami. And, the need for temporary evacuation. However, the evacuation was brief. The communication with the property owners was excellent. And all in all, mother nature rules!

Spectacular!!!

We came here from Maui to see the big island for a few days and this place was spectacular! We wished that we had shortened our time on Maui to spend more time here! Even if it was only on the patio and at the pools. The unit was spectacular, it was a fabulous experience overall! We look forward to our next stay!

Great Stay!

The condo is clean, well appointed and comes with all you need for a great stay. The lanai was our favorite spot for morning coffee and dinners in. The pool/restaurant is fantastic. The grounds are well maintained. We found the beds to be very firm and the pillows were not comfortable (we went to Costco and bought pillows for 20 so not a huge deal). The provided beach chairs, snorkel gear, etc is a nice touch. Would stay again.

Beautiful oasis 🌺

Hali’i Kai is not inexpensive but it is worth the price! It has the best location on the island, near beautiful resorts and beaches (Maniniowali, Kauna’oa and Hapuna are out of this world)!! There is a $25 fee daily for the pool and restaurant use but that, too, is worth it! The 180+ degree view of the ocean from the pool is amazing and the sunsets are spectacular! The pool is lovely although it only gets 4 feet deep. The chef at the restaurant is incredible and makes delicious food! Kathy is a great server- very attentive and friendly. The 3D condo itself is tastefully decorated and comfortable (although an extra arm chair would be great). The views from the lanai are amazing and the grounds are meticulously cared for! I would definitely stay here again! Mahalo!

Enjoyed Every Minute

3D was perfect for our family of 5. Very spacious, clean and has all the necessities we needed. Including the nice beach umbrella and chairs. The club house had excellent views situated on a bluff. Perfect for watching the sunset while having a nice dinner and listening to live Hawaiian music. Super relaxing to say the least.

Beautiful Location

We absolutely loved our stay in your unit! The place was very nice and clean. The patio with the indoor/outdoor living was perfect for letting the breeze in and enjoying the tropical view! The pool, gym and restaurant was also conveniently located. The unit was also stocked with all the beach essentials we needed, very convenient! THANK You! There was also an umbrella for the beach that came in handy for my mom who dislikes being in direct sun. The only negative is my 9 year old felt he couldn’t “truly” enjoy the pool. The staff commented to him several times to be quiet or not to do this and that. When in actuality he was just being a kid. We understand though since the majority of the people there are retirees and are there for peace and quiet. With that said, I think this location is ideal for real adult R&R and no so much for families with young kids. My husband and I can’t wait to go back for some adult time! Thank you!

Paradise In Paradise

The Big Island is already a beautiful, incredible, experience. But to have such a wonderful property as a base camp just makes it so much better. The property is gorgeous, and the unit itself is plenty large enough for the four of us to spread out and relax. Having everything we need ready for us contributed to what was a perfect vacation.

Another Great Stay at Hali'i Kai

This is our 3rd stay within the Hali'i Kai complex and our first in unit 3D. The pool at the complex can't be beat for relaxing, having a drink and watching the whales. The unit was wonderfully clean, comfortable and well stocked for both cooking and going to the beach. Having beach chairs, towels, snorkeling gear and a small cooler provided by the owners is always a plus and made our stay that much more relaxed as we didn't have to run about renting beach gear. Our only need was a lighter weight blanket for the master bedroom but we made do. We'll definitely be back to this unit!

Favorite place I’ve stayed so far

We just finished an amazing family vacation and the condo was a huge part of the success of our trip. It was spacious and quiet with easy access to resorts and snorkeling. One of my favorite things was enjoying the breezes and views from the lanai. The kitchen was well equipped (I loved the rice cooker!) and having a washer and dryer was so nice. We enjoyed sunsets from the community pool as well. I would love to stay here again!

Great place!

We had a lovely stay - the place is spacious, clean, comfortable. Great lanai and it's exactly as the pictures show. The laundry room is fantastic, lots of towels, great pool. My only suggestion would be to replace the sofa and chair in the living room. This beautiful place deserves better furniture. Also, maybe it's time to replace the beach chairs.

Nice unit, but...

Toilet was leaking water all over the bathroom floor, took 3 days to finally resolve while we burned a day waiting around for a no-show maintenance fix. Although the owner and host were responsive, perhaps it's just a sign of the times that we should expect longer wait times for anything. The unit is in good shape, but most of the kitchen knives were rusty. We've rented in Hali'i Kai multiple times with good experiences. Would we rent this one again? Not sure

Best condo on the Big Island

We stayed at Hali'i Kai about 13 years ago and it was amazing, and that is why we chose to stay again. The units are well designed and very nice. Our unit (3D), was very comfortable and the pool and restaurant/bar by the pool were super. The location is perfect. Spend a few dollars more, and stay here!

Great spot to enjoy the Big Island

Very nice condo with everything you would need for your stay. The activities closet is packed with boogie boards, snorkel gear, beach chairs, and even board games for the occasional rainy day. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking tools and even a rice cooker in case you want to make a poke bowl. The complex is really nice, and we enjoyed seeing the whales breaching while enjoying an evening cocktail at the pool club. All around a great visit.

Waikoloa vacation

Stayed in a nice, clean condo in Halii Kai. It was easy to work with owner if we had any problems. Very quiet area, easy walk to pool and restaurant. Great location!
