Oahu's west side runs at its own pace, and Makaha Hideaway is set up to match it. The house sits in a quiet, gated community deep in Makaha Valley, where the mountains turn a deep, jungle green and the ocean shows on the horizon. On a corner lot across from the clubhouse, it's a peaceful place to come back to after a day on the island.

Mornings belong to the patio. Coffee comes with birdsong and views of both the mountains and the water, and the backyard gives kids room to run while everyone else wakes up slowly. When it's time for the beach, the garage has it covered: chairs, towels, and the rest of the gear are ready to load, and Makaha Beach is about 10 minutes down the road. The west side's beaches are quieter and less crowded than the ones around Honolulu, with good surf and long, easy afternoons.

Back at the house, the single-level layout feels roomier than you'd expect. The living room, dining area, and kitchen share one open space, with a sleeper sofa, two side chairs, and a TV on one side and a dining table by the big sliding glass doors on the other. The kitchen is stocked with quality pots, pans, and utensils, so cooking in is easy, and barstools at the counter keep the cook company. Grocery and convenience stores are close by for supplies.

The primary bedroom has a king bed and an ensuite bathroom, the second bedroom has a queen, and the third has two twins. A second bathroom serves the rest of the house, and both bathrooms are spacious. The sleeper sofa brings room for eight, and a high chair and bassinet make it easier to travel with little ones. Games are stocked for slower nights.

Across the street, you'll have access to the community pool, spa, and fitness center for an afternoon swim, an evening soak, or a morning workout. Evenings end the way they began, outside, with sunsets from the backyard and a night sky full of stars. Waikiki and the North Shore are each about an hour away, close enough for a day trip and far enough to keep the valley quiet.

Home Truths:
- Unfortunately, pets are not allowed in this home. If undisclosed pets are brought into the home without AvantStay's approval there is a fine of $500 per pet.
- This home doesn't have central AC, but we've provided mini-split AC units for your convenience.
- Street signs can be confusing as they say Maiola st on most access roads.
- During the rainy season (November-March), daytime temperatures will always be above 76 degrees Fahrenheit, and nighttime temperatures will be in the mid-60s. During all other months, daytime temperatures will be 84 degrees Fahrenheit, and nighttime temperatures will be 72 degrees.
- Please note that the grill has been removed from this home due to potential fire danger on Oahu.

This is a smoke-free property. Violation of the no-smoking policy will result in forfeiture of the security deposit, a $300 smoking fee, and liability for any fire or property damage costs.

As part of our commitment to being good neighbors, occupancy limits and quiet hours (9pm-8am) are strictly enforced. No speakers or sound systems will be provided for use in our properties. Violation of any noise ordinances will be subject to fines that can reach up to $10,000 per violation.

Events or parties are not allowed without prior written approval and an additional fee. Any unauthorized parties or events will be shut down and a fine will be assessed. Please inquire for more information about our event policies and fees.

There is nothing more important to us at AvantStay than the health, safety, and experience of our guests & staff. We've enhanced our cleaning and sanitation protocols and are taking extra care to disinfect all surfaces between reservations with hospital-grade disinfecting solutions.

As a reminder, we do work with 3rd party vendors to maintain the property, and although we adhere to the strictest CDC guidelines and advise all contractors to wear PPE equipment, we can not always enforce. We strongly advise guests to please deny access if any vendors fail to meet and adhere to these standards.

IDs will be requested for verification after booking. All bookings over 30 days require a security deposit.
