Once part of the Château de Purnon, the Scévolles cottage was the gamekeeper’s house. Now fully renovated, it is laid out over two levels. On the first floor: the living area features a kitchen/living space and a sitting area facing the fireplace; an entryway and a full bathroom with a toilet complete this level. Upstairs: one bedroom (1 180-cm bed or 2 90-cm beds), another bedroom (2 90-cm beds), a bathroom, and a separate toilet. Located in the heart of the Scévolles Forest (named after a 16th-century French poet and friend of Ronsard: Scévolles de Sainte-Marthe), the cottage features a large yard and a terrace with outdoor furniture. Close to Loudun (23 km), a “City of Art and History” featuring the Théophraste Renaudot Museum, and Moncontour (21 km), home to a water ski lift. Small pets are welcome (check with the owner).
