Romantic Attic with Superb View of Madonna del Orto Gothic Church

This 85² apartment, in an old venetian house, is my personal residence in Venice.
A fully restored traditional wood beamed open attic. The two storey flat offers an elegant entrance hall with large double window overlooking the front canal.
At upper floor: living room with top quality fully equipped kitchenette, 1 master bedroom with impressive view of Madonna dell’ Orto church front, a second double/twin bedroom, 1 spacious bathroom WC/bidet/ bath/shower, + a second WC with hand basin. A decorative spiral staircase leads from the living room to a small roof landing overlooking the picturesque canal in front of the house.
Easy to reach either by water taxi or public transport: Vaporetto 4.2 and 5.2 from Piazzale Roma car terminal or from Santa Lucia train station.
By Alilaguna/Orange direct line from Venice -Marco Polo airport.
No bridge to cross with your luggage to reach the apartment from the nearest water bus stop ( Madonna dell’ Orto, 100 mt away).

Our stay at the Venice apartment

The apartment was close enough to most tourist attractions but in a nice residential neighborhood with many restaurants and cafes. The apartment was very comfortable with everything we needed. Our host met us at the ferry stop and had a nice package that he reviewed of suggested places to see and eat, which was helpful. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.

Wonderful Place to Stay

Everything about this home is ideal, starting with its location. After dealing with hoards of people in the most popular areas, walking home to this peaceful neighborhood and home have us the reprieve we needed. Arrigo is the perfect host. He sat with us when we arrived and mapped out some amazing places — and told us places to avoid. Follow his advice! You will not be disappointed. The 7:00 am bells out of the master bedroom window are eye opening but they are also lovely. And the screens on the windows are a lifesaver. Thank you Arrigo, we will return - just not in August! A wonderful apartment in Venice, with a fantastic host. He was very helpful in our communication before arrival, he greeted us at the dock, and helped us with restaurant recommendations for the area. The apartment was modern, clean and spacious. We would definitely stay again!

Welcome sojourn!

Everything about the stay was so nice. Our host, Arrigo, kept in touch prior to our stay, helping with how to reach the apartment from the bus terminal. He met us at the vaparetto stop, gave a welcome tour of the apartment, and then offered to review some info on local areas of interest. In short, he was terrific. Also, the internet was always available and very fast. The beds were very comfy. The location was quiet and close enough to everything. We would definitely stay here again.

Perfecto!

From the moment he met us at water taxi stop through our entire experience, I truly cannot find a fault. Arrigo sat with us for 30 minutes walking through a map and giving us many many ideas and options!!! Great villa just far enogh from crowds for quiet but a 3 minute walk to so much!! Comfy beds, blackout blinds for skylights, plentiful kitchen; quiet, lovely building! I would 1000% stay here again!!!

Perfect Place For a Stay in Venice!

The apartment was even better then we expected and looked great in the fotos. Our host Arrigo was extremely responsive and helpful and waiting for us when we arrive by boat from the airport. Quiet Apartment in Cannaregio

This was our second visit to Venice and our second stay in the Cannaregio district. The apartment was exactly as described. It was exceptionally large for the two of us and has all the amenities needed for any length of stay. Arrigo met us on our early arrival and stored our luggage until check-in time. Once we were able to check in, Arrigo gave us a tour of the apartment and explained all the ins and outs. The apartment is in a very quiet neighborhood so there were no distractions while sleeping. Arrigo kept in touch throughout our stay and was helpful when we had concerns about getting to the airport on time. I would definitely recommend this apartment for couples or small families.

Casa Zorzi prefecten in Cannaregio

My family of four just returned from beautiful Venice. We had a wonderful stay at Casa Zorzi in Cannaregio. This home was absolutely lovely, traditional yet modern, extremely clean, and close to water taxi stops for exploring Venice and the out islands. The Cannaregio area is charming, filled with authentic Italian restaurants, tiny shops, locals, and lazy streets. This area feels like what Venice may have been like 50 years ago. It was a very welcome retreat after touring the hectic canals and pathways of touristy Venice. Close enough to hop on a water taxi within minutes to attractions, yet removed enough to be authentic and peaceful. Our host, Arrigo, was our favorite VRBO host yet. He is a true gentleman. He went out of his way to meet us as the water taxi stop from the airport and walked us the three minutes to his house. He spent a half hour of quality time with us explaining the area, recommending osterias, and giving us general advise for touring Venice. This is his family's holiday home and they take great pride in its care. A fabulous experience! Thank you Arrigo!

This property is truly lovely in a very special location.

The apartment is lovely. It is furnished really well and you have everything to be truly comfortable. It soon feels like home. The immediate area is full of everyday Venetian life, not tourist life. The location makes it easy to get around, either on foot or by boat. What a lovely experience.

Great little apartment away from the crowds

Easy access to airport, one stop on airport water bus then a very short walk. Quiet neighborhood, but close to restaurants, market, anything else you need. 20 minute walk to San Marco. Apartment is as new, clean and neat as you could ask. Arrigo is great host, met us at the ferry stop, went over everything in the apartment (washing machine included), gave us recommendations on local services ( gelato, pastry shop, etc) and welcomed us with a bottle of Prosecco and some pastries. A perfect little home in Cannaregio with the best host we've ever had. Arrigo goes out of his way to make you feel welcome and introduce you to his Venice.

Beautiful apartment and wonderful host

This is a very nicely decorated, clean and comfortable apartment in a quiet area in Venice. It worked out perfectly for my family of four. It was a great place to really relax, escape the crowds and experience Venice like a local vs a tourist. We were only able to stay a few days so we really appreciated Arrigo's advice and direction on what to do while we were there. This was invaluable information to us as there is so much to see and do.

In love with Venice

This is such an easy review to write as Arrigo made our trip the best from minute one. He gave clear info on locating his area of town, met us at the water bus stop and strolled with us to his place. We didn't have a map so he walked with us to the closest store to purchase one, identified points of interest Along the way and spent another long time with us highlighting the map and places to visit and eat. Arrigo you are awesome! Location is great for connecting to all the key places and his home is in excellent shape and comfortable. My only advice is one we are experiencing throughout our Europe travels is pillows are quite flat. For any North American travellers I'd recommend packing one as it's just not what we're used to. We only had 3 days so we will have get to return and see the other islands. Thank you Arrigo!

Great apartment, great host!

Our whole experience with this apartment was great! Arrigo was very responsive to all our questions and was truly a great host. We were in several VRBO properties during our time in Italy and our stay here was above and beyond. Arrigo met us at the Vaporetto stop, walked us to his place, had Prosecco and Focaccia for us, and then sat with us and gave us some great recommendations on how to spend our time in Venice. He had coffee and staples in the pantry... Just a class act all the way around. The apartment is a nice size, not huge, but for us and our two teenagers it was perfect. The living space is comfortable and inviting. The decor is beautiful and there are some nice views of the canal. We were there in winter and the heat kept us cozy. The ceilings in the bedrooms and bathroom are a bit low as they follow the roofline, but it was not an issue for us. If you are a very tall person, it might be more challenging. We found the neighborhood great. Away from the crowds, but not too far out. We walked twice to St. Marks and it took about 20-25 minutes. Easy to get to a Vaporetto stop on the Grand Canal if you want to ride down to St. Marks. Lots of restaurants an easy walk. Overall we could not have been happier with this apartment and if I find myself back in Venice this is definitely the place I want to stay!

Peaceful apartment

The location of the apartment was close to many of the popular sights but was in a quieter residential area. It was very restful to return to the apartment after walking around in the crowded areas. The apartment is beautifully decorated and comfortable to stay in. We slept well as the beds were perfect. The second half bath was convenient to have. Arrigio was helpful with everything. His restaurant recommendations were excellent. I recommend staying here longer than three nights! It was not enough time to be in this amazing city.

Venedig von seiner stilleren und charmanten Seite

Vier Wochen durften wir diese wundervolle Wohnung bewohnen, direkt neben dieser schönen Kirche in einem ruhigen Viertel Venedigs. Alle erforderliche Infrastruktur in unmittelbarer Fussnähe! Supermärkte, Bäcker, Restaurants. Auch ein kleiner Markt mit Fisch, Obst und Gemüse ist über das Ghetto in 10 Minuten erreichbar. Unschlagbar die Nähe zur VaporettoStation Orto. Keine Stufen und keine Brücke! Und sofort in der Lagune! Besser kann man nicht wohnen! Die Wohnung selbst ist klasse. Der Besitzer hat an alles gedacht, sogar ein Nachtlicht gibt es. Die Küche sieht zwar klein aus, aber sie ist sehr gut ausgestattet. Man kann alles kochen. Backofen, vier Herdplatten, Spülmaschine und alle nötigen Utensilien sind vorhanden. Die Wohnung hat eine sehr gut funktionierende Heizung, das war im November eine Wohltat! Arrigo ist ein äußerst fürsorglicher Gastgeber! Er sorgte z.B. für ausreichend Taps für die Spülmaschine, dickere Decken für die Betten und informierte über wichtige Neuigkeiten. Z.B. den Marathon in Venedig und die damit einhergehenden Behinderungen. Oder den Streik der Verkehrsbetriebe und was das für uns bedeutet. Besser geht es nicht! Wir sind sehr dankbar, dort gewesen zu sein und können diese Wohnung mit diesem liebenswürdigen Gastgeber nur weiterempfehlen. Jedenfalls werden wir in Venedig keine andere Wohnung mehr mieten, weil es nicht besser geht. Danke an Arrigo!
