The location was great. The lady that checked us in gave us great restaurants that were run by long time Italians so we got the true experience. Pub next door with locals was a great place to meet people and learn more about Venice.

Excellent area close to shopping and eating. However, the stairs were too much. I’ve read responses from other reviews that people from the US don’t walk enough but seriously there are some of us who have health concerns or walking issues, and your information doesn’t state up front that there are over 50 steep steps to our room. No problem with check in. Room was clean. AC didn’t work. Our fridge didn’t cool. And the last night and next morning our internet quit.

While we had a good stay, the property is more run down than the photos suggest. It is a great location, and the basics are provided for. The bathroom is in a separate room to the bedroom. The hotel is on the third floor, no elevator, 51 steps up. Its a little noisy in the mornings and evening with loud closing doors and people talking. If you need more towels than they give you have to pay for them. The owner is nice. He gave us several tips on where to eat and shop.

The room was clean, but pretty basic. The bed did not have a frame, so it was very low and harder for an older person to get up and out of. The property is also up about 60 stairs with no elevator. Information at check in was very good. Location was also good. We had a shared bath with a modern, but very small shower.

The room was ok. However, it did say I would have a private bath, which I interpreted to Maine and en suite bath. That was not the case. I was given a key to my bathroom so that it was private, but it was across the hall. There are also six flights of stairs and the lighting is on the timer and if you take too long, you will find yourself in pitch black darkness.

Check in was easy, but there is no receptionist, so communication may be difficult at times for arrival, but we had no issues. At check out our contact for the hotel was rude, when we were asking about the hotel policies for check-out. Overall the location was good, for overall places to eat and see. We arrived by train and were able to take a water taxi to the dock where the hotel was located and it was a 3 minute walk to the hotel.
