The room was clean but in need of an upgrade. Net curtains shabby, torn and heavy curtains were hanging off curtain rail in places. Staircase carpet dirty. Reception and waiting staff were helpful and professional. Dinner was lovely but breakfast disappointing. Breakfast is served until 9.30am. Came down at 9am and hardly any hot food left, not replenish!

A very special hotel with a good location by the train station. Very quiet city and not ideal as a tourist as many restaurants are closed on Sundays.

Good hotel for a short stay

The room was clean, breakfast average. However, the room faced the tram and train staition and it was loud therefore till late in the night. The room was soundproof and I did not heard anything from the neighbours' rooms.

Old, dirty hotel. Staff isn't very friendly to anyone who isn't speaking French. Area which is in front of the Train Station isn't very safe either.

For the price the room and facilities were great. The room was large with an adjoining bathroom which had a separate toilet. The bathroom was huge with a double sink. The art deco theme runs through the hotel and it is very beautiful in the bar restaurant area. Food must be good as it appeared to be all locals eating there. Bar very good value for money and the free too up of wine very welcome. Very friendly staff. Close to the train station, ample parking on the side streets adjacent to the hotel. Downsides: I’m a wheelchair user, the ramp was at such an acute angle that it was too dangerous. So I had to get help to get up the few steps. The lift is extremely small and barely fit my wheelchair in, I had to pull up the foot rests and mine is a travel electric chair so it’s compact. So if you’re a wheelchair user I would not recommend this hotel. There was food in the mini fridge that was half eaten. The noise aspect was not the other hotel guests it was people who had left local clubs and decided to stand in the street screaming & shouting from 1am to 4am … we could not sleep but not the fault of the hotel staff. So if you need quiet then this may not be the place for you. The very bizarre carpet in the hallways was very strange and really does cause your eyes to deceive you, I dare anyone to attempt to navigate a straight line on it.

Je reconnais ne pas avoir lu d'avis sur l'hôtel avant de réserver. J'ai deja déjeuné plusieurs fois dans le restaurant, 3 étoiles logiquement les feux sont verts. Personnel super accueillant mais la partie hotel n'est vraiment pas du tout engageante. Belle surprise, la chambre est tres grande et avait un jaccuzi. Mais personne n’a envie de s'y baigner semble sale, toiles d'araignée entre la lampe halogene et le plafond, la porte de la douche bloquée qui m'est restée dans les mains, robinetterie pas nette. Moquette catastrophique qui donnepas envie de marcher nu pied. On entend bien le voisin du dessus. La chambre était climatisee, parfait en ces jours de canicule sauf que tellement bruyante qu'il faut choisir entre dormir ou rester au frais.Il devait être au top dans les années 80, c'est presque triste qu'il soit dans cet état.

Très bon séjour au Grand Hôtel de Valenciennes. L’hôtel est idéalement situé, juste à côté de la gare, ce qui est très pratique lorsqu’on arrive en train. L’accueil a été efficace et l’enregistrement s’est fait rapidement. La chambre était grande, propre et confortable. L’hôtel n’est pas particulièrement moderne ni très récent, mais il est bien entretenu et agréable. J’ai aussi apprécié le restaurant de l’hôtel, qui est de bonne qualité, ainsi que le petit-déjeuner, varié et satisfaisant. Dans l’ensemble, une bonne adresse à Valenciennes, surtout pour sa situation, son confort et la qualité de ses services.

Chambre 243 fenetre avec les vitres sales et le châssis en bois recouvert de moisissures noires (photo disponible) DANGER DE TROUBLES REDPIRATOIRES + couette supplémentaire avec taches de café (demandé et obtenu son remplacement) + au moment de prendre la douche, le flacon de gel douche était vide !!! et plus de savon liquide non plus !!! Le lendemain j'ai demandé et obtenu un changement de chambre qui s est avérée CORRECTE (chambre 524)

Petit séjour d’une nuit dans cet hôtel De Valenciennes, un peu vieillot, mais les chambres sont propres et fonctionnelle pas très spacieuse mais un bel écran télé une salle de bain avec baignoire, petite mais correcte et bonne insonorisation sonore qui m’a permis de passer une bonne nuit dans un lit très confortable.
