Coming from Hotel Indigo Seminyak with its amazing service, I had high hopes for Maya Ubud but left disappointed. The upgrade to a “corner suite” for 400,000 IDR per night was a joke — the room felt dated and not worth the extra cost. The TV didn’t work, the faucet leaked unless tightened extremely hard, and housekeeping didn’t clean our room until we specifically asked. Service overall lacked attentiveness and warmth. For the price and 5-star rating, Maya Ubud falls short in both care and quality.

The two pools are pretty and I like the whole setting with trees, makes it feel like pools inside a forest. The staff is very friendly and the buggy service makes me feel like a royalty. I love the free shows at the restaurant at night, especially the fire show! Both dinner (a la carte) and breakfast buffet are great.

What a lovely resort - there was a mix up with our booking and our first room was very small even though advertised for 4 adults -it was not suitable for 4 adults sharing - and also very noisy - but the manager sorted it out - breakfast ought to be included in the pricing I feel - all the staff so friendly and helpful and grounds beautiful - Butler service widely advertised is simply concierge service and perhaps remove impressive from room descriptions as they are simply standard hotel rooms unless you have a villa. On all bookings we had to chase up for dressing gowns but other than that I would recommend the hotel for a relaxing and chilled out stay.

Perfect 5 star hotel experience awaits you here at Maya. The food is amazing and grounds are meticulously maintained. Service was unparalleled. Everyone was so friendly and couldn’t do enough to help you. We especially felt really looked after by Ekan and Yuni at the Tree Bar. Thanks guys for making our stay wonderful. Spa was beautiful and treatments were wonderful. The kids did a cooking class and loved the experience.
