Booked in for 2 nights but when we arrived, the room we were given was around the side (no 28 I think) and opposite a working garage. We asked to be moved. The gentleman said he could move us to no 27 in the morning with a Mountain View room. I have to point out that we had a free cancellation of the second night at that point). However, when we got to the morning, it was a lady this time and she said “sorry, no 27 wasn’t available after all”. We couldn’t stay in a room opposite the garage and also a spider ran across the bedding which made me then spot the cobwebs all behind the wardrobe, ceiling, bed etc. we told them we weren’t staying in no 28 for a second night because I had also had no sleep because of my fear of spiders. The guy was back when we called in around 10 am and we told him to refund for one night. We left it with him. He seemed to think there wouldn’t be a problem but would have to refer to the lady. I also spoke to Expedia about it. To date we have NOT had a refund for the second night! This is a highly popular area (Twizel) so would have been easily sold that night to someone else. Very unhappy with the service we received and room no 28!
