About this property
Cozy Yurt Ideal for Stargazing near Joshua Tree National Park, California
Enjoy your own private Yurt!! With endless desert views, we are just 20 minutes to the less-crowded North entrance of Joshua Tree National Park. Experience an amazing natural observatory when taking in the night sky and indulge in a moon bath! Disconnect from your busy life and reconnect with yourself here in our desert paradise. Each Authentic Mongolian Yurt accommodates up to 4 and has a Mongolian sink inside, it's own heated shower, toilet, picnic table, BBQ with Sink & fire pit.
Please keep in mind that we have a total of 5 yurts available on our property.
We have purposefully avoided trying to duplicate every convenience of home. If you want a place with perfect wifi, televisions and such, this might not be your cup of tea. But if you’d like a peaceful, unplugged desert oasis... Start with gazing through your open window to the sky (Called the Toono) and enjoy your personal Observatory. We then invite you to step outside of your yurt and enjoy the sweet scent of wild desert sage and watch the tiny horny toads and other fascinating little critters scurry across the natural desert landscape and maybe even be woken up by the crow of a rooster or the occasional call of a peacock! Relax under the magical starry night by your private fireplace, roast some marshmallows and listen to the coyotes and the crickets. This is a personal encounter with nature. Go home with a fresh perspective and sense of serenity.
Each Yurt has it's own private area to sleep, camp, cook, clean and play.
Due to COVID-19 we have changed to self-check-in. We live on the property and are available if needed.
The Property is nestled up to Copper Mountain. All my neighbors sit on 5 acres of land so we are very spread out with lots of personal space. There are 5 Yurts on the property so invite your friends and share a great outdoor experience together and then get a great night's sleep in your own dreamy bed. This is a Peaceful Stargazing Glamping experience. This is not the place to have a loud party and guests will be asked to leave if they cannot follow the house rules. The desert is like a boom box so loud music and loud conversation are not welcome. "Quiet time" is 9:30 pm. We welcome a "guitar around the fire pit" type atmosphere but loud music from a car or speaker will not be tolerated. Please understand there are other guests and neighbors who may have different tastes in music and they are here to enjoy peace and tranquility.
~I provide bedding and pillows for the ‘Corduroy’, queen, foam-filled floor bed, if you plan to use it as a bed and not just as a chair but I must have a total guest count before arrival.
~Please note to bring layers as the desert, though warm during the day, can be chilly at night. Also please bring blankets for out by the fire if needed, there will be a charge if my blankets, sleeping bags or towels are damaged by using outdoors for any reason other than their intended use.
~Bring appropriate footwear as there are desert ‘critters’ and cactus about!
~I provide Camp chairs for parties of up to 4 per Yurt.
~Propane for BBQ included.
~Personal countertop and outdoor sink provided at each yurt for food preparation.
~The Yurts have electricity for phone charging and A/C and heaters but solar and battery-operated Lanterns are at each yurt to keep that camping feel.
~Please note that WIFI is non-existent and cellular is extremely ‘spotty’. Come here to ‘unplug’! ( :
~Please be very careful to not bang your head as you enter your yurt.
Though the ceilings are high, the door frame is low. Caution!
~Please make SURE to rely on your navigation, ESPECIALLY at night as roads are very dark.
Please keep in mind that we have a total of 5 yurts available on our property.
