Solo female traveler, stayed three nights.
PROS- the location was easy to get to from John Wayne Airport. It’s central to the locations in Irvine and Tustin that I was visiting.
The grounds, pool, and parking lot are immaculately neat and clean, as is the room itself. My second story poolside room was small, but had everything one person would need. I would not want to stay in this room with two people.
CONS- a female housekeeper knocked on my door and looked in my window (creepy and startling) while I was in bed, and while my “resting comfortably” sign was on the door. When I say looked in my window, I mean she literally put her face up to my window where the blinds were open about 12 inches. It was 10 AM and checkout was 11 AM. She kept knocking until I came to the door. Surely she must have another room she can clean before she worries about a room that is paid for until 11 AM, AND has a “do not disturb” sign on the door. This was startling and unacceptable.
My ceiling smoke detector was covered with a plastic bag, which was strange and unsettling.
There is a very large gap under the door to the room. It allowed noise in that would be muffled if they would correct this issue. This hotel is literally right next to a freeway and needs all of the soundproofing it can get.
The pros outweigh the cons. They have room for common sense improvements, but overall it was a nice stay.
