The room was so adorable and clean, wished it had a blow-dryer but it wasn't a big deal. Everyone was so nice and loved the hot spring tubs. Definitely staying there again

This is the worst hotel i have been to. It was so bad that I decided not to stay here despite already having paid for my reservation. Do not stay here. The building is old, the room is not secure as the front door does not close completely, the floor is broken, the bed is old, untidy, and uncomfortable. I do not understand why Hotels.com advertises this type of place. Disappointed by the poor quality.

Dear Expedia, Sorry to tell you, but it was so horrible that I cancelled the reservation immediately after visiting the room. The dingy bedroom contained a mattress that was old and worn. The room was not clean. Then, they showed us the hot, communal, concrete tub and it smelled like a toilet. No way we could stay there and immediately cancelled. Sorry, we did not let you know then, but there was no other place to stay and we were forced to drive back home in the dark. I have never been so disappointed, disillusioned by what it was touted to be vs. what it was, and how dirty it was. Please, help us with this cancelation. Thank you.

The room had mold actively growing. Came down for 2 nights, the first one being NYE. Got in at night already ready and went out with friends without using the room much. The next afternoon after a long hike I discovered the source of the mold actively and visibly growing in the shower. The room was musty and no windows were operable to get fresh air. I asked the manager if I could check out 1 night early with a refund, partial refund, or even credit for that night and he said no accommodations because I told him after the cleaning crew was gone. If there is visible mold it's a health concern, and any time that I discovered it and reported it should have been reasonable to provide a refund. I have stayed at the Pelican before and enjoyed it, unfortunately I will not return after this experience. Very disappointed.
