This house is so cute and since it was built in the early 1900’s it’s been updated quite well. The drive along the way to the house is beautiful and in quiet country area. There was a small dog next door that was precious and we fell in love with. However, a few things need to be mentioned. We drove over 4 hours on New years Eve to get there. We get there we find the home cute and charming. BUT the kitchen and bathrooms were not clean!! I cleaned them & let the owner know. Later when we were getting ready for bed, my kids noticed their sheets were not clean and neither were ours! I very irritable get in touch with owner and she sent someone over the next morning to clean the house and change the sheets. And I do appreciate her making the wrong right. But it kinda set a different mood for the house the rest of our stay. Lastly, bring your own food, drinks and such because the only place around is a Dollar General 15-20mins one way and about 30 mins in a different direction. Again the scenery is beautiful but not lots of options for food, coffee, medical or shopping without quite a drive. And due to it being a holiday the few places we found were closed. Things happen but we made the most of it. If you have kids, Capel skate park in Troy was nice, we hiked one of the Uwharrie trails, the zoo was fun, took kids to the arcade in the asheboro mall, a nice shop called Minkology on Main Street & Zooshi had great sushi. All in asheboro nc area.
