Disliked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, listing accuracy
Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing stay.
I informed the host in advance that we would arrive around 7pm, but nobody was there when we arrived and we had to wait outside in the heat for around 20 minutes.
At check-in, we paid the cleaning fee and city tax, which were shown on Hotels.com. However, we were then asked to pay an additional €25 for towels/linen, which was not clearly stated when I booked. When I questioned it, the host became unpleasant. At first, I was told it was for towels, but when I said we did not need them, I was then told it also included bed sheets and pillowcases. It felt like we had no real choice but to pay if we wanted to stay.
The property was also advertised as having free Wi-Fi, which was one of the main reasons I booked because I needed to work. However, the host told us there was no Wi-Fi at all. I later messaged to confirm this but received no reply.
The property also had several problems. We saw large cockroaches in the room and bathroom. The oven could not be used because it caused the electricity to trip. The fridge leaked a lot of water and did not cool properly. There was no proper kitchen knife, only table knives, which made cooking difficult. There was also no shampoo or body soap provided.
The location was not very convenient for a short stay, as it takes around 20 minutes to walk to the centre and the main beach area is quite far.
Overall, I would not recommend this property.
