Location was outstanding and nuce grounds. But food and service poor...possibly because it was the last 2 days of the season and many...not all.. staff had a terrible attitude
Nice clean enjoyable comfortable stay.
Single drawback: smoke from the fireplace in the lobby! We could not spend any time there or in the dining areas due to heavy smoke.
This is not a place to stay if you are not on the cruise. Driving and having a car was not a good thing. While in the rain, we had to go up hill up the street in water running down the street, then up a steep driveway, and then walk 2 building over to get to our room. The driveway outside the room was for authorized vehicles only. Then the old lady bus driver for the treehouse shuttle was rude. Room also didn't have a fridge or microwave. Then staff in the lodge and food services while not rude, were not helpful or pleasant. Only the gift shop workers made you feel good.
We had a good stay. We used the resort as our base to Talkeetna. We were not blessed with good weather for viewing mountain which would have been great from the lodge’s vistas. Not their fault. We did enjoy the presentations in their community room by the naturalists. Only real negative was the lack of cups in the rooms. Oh, the treehouse was a cool place to view the mountain too. Unique
The lodge was very nice. They were able to switch us to a 1st floor room. Be aware you may hear people above you if you're on the first floor. The food was good. Breakfast at the Lodge was very good and Skyy took good care of us. The staff is very friendly. Would stay here again.
Disappointed there were zero amenities in the bathroom such as lotion or drinking cups. Lovely to be able to open the windows for fresh air. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. The fire pits were awesome!
Nice hotel in a great location with amazing views. Parking was poor (required a long walk up hill to the room in the rain). Wonderful coffee shop. The 20320 Alaskan grill was overpriced given the poor quality of the food. My wife ordered prime rib cooked medium rare and was brought an over well done, dried out piece. I ordered a pork chop which was also severely overcooked to the point of being hard and dry. To the restaurants credit, the recooked and comped my dinner. My wife opted for a simple appetizer when we learned there was no more prime rib. The 3rd person in our party had the wings which were tasty, The fourth person ordered chicken alfredo, which was flavorless.
