It’s a little but of work to get to mawamba, but once you’re there it’s quite pleasant. The pool area is A+ and the breakfast is too. The walk into town is easy and the number of places to get dinner is plentiful. Beware the birds are noisy but that’s nature at its best!

Fabulous place to stay. Would love better internet (didn’t work in our room at all), a small gym would also be lovely. Would have loved to known we needed to pay for the water taxi to the hotel!! We loved our stay. I was worried about no air conditioning but the giant fan worked great. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We woke up to birdsong every day. I only have 2 complaints. The first was that we frequently didn’t have hot water for our showers. The second was that there was no way to tip with a credit card at checkout so I had to scramble for cash.

We loved Mawamba lodge, friendly staff, great location, lots of wildlife around and the hotel also organised our trips which were brilliant, boat ride and night walk, saw lots of birds, frogs, crocodile, agouti. The location and grounds are just idyllic
