The owners, Lisa and Christof were such amazing hosts, nothing was too hard to organise. Breakfast was the best we’ve had in a long time, each meal individually prepared. The rooms were beautifully presented and perfectly functional. It was pet friendly, however we did not have our dog with us. A short 8-10 min walk to the Torquay foreshore and restaurants, a great location and wonderful stay.

The perfect place

The Charterhouse was as advertised, only better. Our room was very comfortable and large. The couple who manage the hotel were very nice and easy to communicate with. The location is really special, in walking distance of Torquay, but a little removed on a quiet country lane, half a mile from the lovely Cockington Country Park. It is a lovely Edwardian building, well maintained. The cleanliness was really impressive.

Superb!

Absolutely superb stay! Room was perfect for us as a couple, our little toddler and our dog. The room and ensuite was clean, the breakfasts were delicious and nothing was too much for the hosts. The owners were very friendly and the property was well maintained. We couldn't fault the food that was served for our breakfast which had all been sourced locally. The hotel is in a quiet location, just a five minute walk from the seafront and a gentle stroll down into Torquay. Would certainly recommend The Charterhouse.

Going on holiday but feeling at home. Greeted with such a warm welcome from lisa lots of smiles. The room was so beautiul, massive bed and super comfortable. The room was very clean and well presented. Bathroom had big shower and again very well presented with complimentary body wash and shampoo. Breakfast was very nice, service quick and friendly. Maybe an option of veggie breakfast would be only minor thing to add but was very well looked after with options.
