Good place to lay your head after a long drive. Kind feels like sleeping in your great aunt Suzan’s spare bedroom. But it’s nice, clean, comfy.

I would have given this hotel a 9 or 10 except for the fact the room was close to 80 degrees all night. AC did not work it actually heated the room. I shut it off and opened window and listened to traffic 1-3am. Got temp down to 75. A poor nights sleep. Room 23.

Loved the property, the Belvada and the Mizpah were very nice unique historical hotels. I down graded the service. Because before coming I wanted to confirm my reservation, made thru Expedia, with the hotel directly. When I called, the Belvada, several times there was no answer and the answering machine was full ( poor), with no other messages from the hotel. I found out when we arrived that there is not a front desk person there all the time and you were supposed to call the Mizpah hotel for information. The property needs to change their phone messages to reflect that and have a sign at the front desk to let you know to go to the Mizpah to check in. The restaurant waitress at Jack Dempsey’s was very nice and attentive. For breakfast, the Pittman Cafe was closed, which turned out to be good thing, because we had to eat somewhere else in town. We ate at a diner called Strawberry Hill, excellent local cafe.

Belvada was a decent hotel. The front desk lady worked with us to find a room. They did not have the room we booked available due to not finding our reservation. After a long day of travel, we just wanted a place to get some rest before continuing our road trip.

The hotel is very nice. Room was roomy and clean. Service was good. Only problem is parking. You can either park on the street in front or in an area behind the hotel across the street. We were there on a busy night so parking was limited. I would still recommend this hotel.

Checked in late so had to go to the Mizpah to check in. The young lady at the front desk, Riley (sp?) was fantastic. So personable and passionate about the history of both Mizpah and Belvada. She was a breath of fresh air. The young man at the coffee shop at the Belvada was extremely friendly, and outgoing as well. I’ve stated many times, but never had such great interactions with the staff. Well done!
