Room is small, but tidy and clean. Shop and subway station nearby. Friendly staff.

Liked: Cleanliness
Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
We stayed in the Japanese Annex room for 3 nights. The room was clean no doubt but it was rather musky so we had to open the windows to air it. The fact that it was next to the outdoor laundry area, even with closed windows, you could hear people chatting while doing their laundry. Amenities were basic as this is afterall a hostel. The saving grace is the superb location which is close to the train station, restaurants and shopping district.
On a quiet street, a laundromat is very close and it is cheap. Close to the Ikebukuro metro station. The room itself is a bit too small for 3 people (3 mattresses) but it's OK.
The futons were comfortable. Aircon and quiet sliding doors were helpful. Liked having a microwave oven and kettle and washing detergent. However, there was only one sink in the house.
Front office staff and cleaners were polite, friendly and accommodating.
Appreciated the free washing machine usage and the relatively cheap clothes dryer fee. However, there was only two dryers to three washing machines - which was a little inconvenient when having to wait for others to finish and remove their laundry.
The crockery and cutlery provided was a bit random and incomplete which was inconvenient.
Since we stayed in the upstairs annexe in room 22, it was a bit more troublesome especially when carrying heavy luggage or doing the laundry, as we constantly had to go up and down the stairs
Very close to ikebukuro station, easy access to everything we wanted to do, facility was nice, machine to fill water bottles in kitchen (!!!) and AC worked almost too well. Other guests may be loud. But we are also loud...
There was construction happening on a nearby building which woke us up one morning - didn't change our schedule and it'll probably be finished after 2025, but worth keeping in mind if sleeping in.
Immaculately clean hotel with traditional tatami rooms. Very helpful multilingual staff. Extremely convenient location, 2 minutes walk from entrance to Ikebukuro station.
We stayed in the annex as a family of 4. It was perfect for us. Simple and a great price. Great location. Exit C1 was the closest exit (stairs) and C6 (escalator) was the next closest.
The grocery store “Life” had the best bentos and baked goods in the area. Also, cheaper fruit than in the department stores. It was 5 min away.
Lovely hostel, we booked the family room, decent size for family of 4 with big luggages. What I really like wash sink, shower & bathroom is separated which makes getting ready in the morning fuss free! Situated in good location, less than 3 mins walk to underground subway station! Lots of good restaurants around the area & shopping! A very good stay!
This place feels like home. We need to take off our shoes at the entrance. Sanitized slippers are provided. Guest can share the pantry, fridge and dining table. Drinking water dispenser also available which is a big plus for me. I do find the bathroom to be too small. I'm not fond of the tatami floor but that's just me. At my age its difficult to constantly squat down and get up. I would highly recommend this place to anyone below 50 :-)
